Antonova Out to Pasture

THE DONKEY

an original poem by Judy Sadler

The donkey is a piece of work,
No equine has more class.
His skinny butt and longish ears,
No other steeds surpass.

With four hooves planted on the ground
He firmly brooks no sass.
And if your wants don't jibe with his,
My friend, you're at impasse.

His wisdom and his cautious ways.
His savoir faire and brass,
All lumped together in one beast,
And all this runs on grass.
