Reiki - Energy Healing

The word Reiki is a Japanese word, which when translated to the English language is said to mean Universal Life Force Energy. The hands-on energy healing form that is called Reiki was brought to the world by a Japanese gentleman called Mikao Usui, who was born late 19th century.

As a trained Reiki Master, I initiate people into the use of this healing energy by way of a series of "attunements" (a process that enables the recipient to always have the Reiki healing energy flow from their hands any time they place their hands on any other living energy field - people, animals, crystals, plants, etc) which will be there for the rest of the person's life.

Reiki is a healing mode that will complement any other healing system and is known to have assisted to bring out the best and reduced the side effects of drug treatments. It has a way of going to the highest priority need, which could be any one of the physical, mental, emotional or spiritual aspect of the recipient. Because of this, it is not necessary for either the person giving or the person receiving to have a diagnosis in order for healing to take place.

Because the person giving a Reiki treatment is not drawing on their own energy resourses but on universal energy which is always available in abundant supply, persons who are ill are able to not only able to place their hands on themselves and receive healing personally, but they are also able to work on others with no detrimental side affects. Indeed, as the reiki passes through the giver of Reiki it "touches the sides on the way through" which means that they tend to benefit and feel better as the result of giving Reiki to someone else.

Generally a Reiki healing session consists of a practioner placing their hands in a series of positions on the recipient's body for approx. 5 minutes in each position, and usually takes between 1 - 1.5 hours. It is usually a clothes-on session, unless the Reiki is being incorporated into a Massage session.

I am currently running regular 1st and 2nd Degree Reiki workshops in Whitianga, which is on the Coromandel Peninsula of the North Island, New Zealand. I also offer the 3a level of training, and Master/Teacher training to students who are ready to take that step.
