Chapter 1

This is the first chapter to Kara's Hanson Story. Enjoy!

RIIIINNNGG!!!! The sound of 14-yr. old Kara Lambert's alarm clock broke the silence in her bedroom. She opened one eye and glanced up at the clock. 6:00AM 'I HATE Mondays, especially ones where you have to go to school!' she thought to herself while getting out of her bed very ungracefully. She headed to the bathroom and took her shower. After that, she made a beeline for her walk-in closet. "Hmmm...I wonder what I should wear today?" she thought out loud. After 5 minutes of modeling outfits, she decided on black and white postman pants and a black and white baby tee with white Nike crosstrainers. She tied her blonde hair back into a raindrop, put on a silver daisy choker and her ring watch, grabbed her blue Eastpak bookbag and her black vinyl bookbag purse and ran downstairs.

Her mother, Cynthia Lambert, was sitting at the dinner table reading that day's newspaper, sipping her coffee. Cynthia Lambert was a slim, petite woman in her early 40s. She had long layered blonde hair and a perky attitude. This was perfect for her job. Cynthia was the co-host for a local entertainment show in Tulsa. It was called *!SuperStarz!*. The show reported the latest fashions and movies to the latest music trends and sports stars. Cynthia usually didn't leave for work until 8 or 9 AM. That was just to get back up info and interviews done. *!SuperStarz!* was broadcast at 9PM in Tulsa. There were even talks of the show moving to national status. Because of this Kara was pretty popular in school, not snobby popular, just popular.

"Dear, did you get to eat breakfast this morning?" Cynthia called out to her daughter who was busy making herself a lunch.

"No mom! I'll just eat at school."Kara replied. Kara knew her mother was a major health freak and wanted Kara to eat stuff from home because as her mom would always say, "You just can't trust people these days."

"Kara, how about you just eat a Nutri-Grain bar or something on your way to the bus stop."

"Fine, mom." Kara replied. She grabbed the fruitfilled bar out of it's box from the pantry. "I'm leaving! See you after you get home tonight. Good luck!!" Kara headed toward's the front door. She swung the French double doors open and shut the doors behind her.

"Kara, that reminds me. I need to talk to you about something....Kara?" Cynthia stuck her head out from behind the paper. 'Oh well, I'll just tell her later.' Cynthia muttered to herself.

"What was that dear?" Gary Lambert said as he stepped out from his office. Gary Lambert was an established and well-known lawyer in Tulsa. He was in his middle 40s and had mousy brown hair with a few streaks of gray here and there.

"Oh nothing. I was going to tell Kara about what we talked about last night , but she already left." Cynthia replied.

"Ah, yes. I think Kara should know as soon as possible."

"So do I."
