REVIEW: OUTKAST: AQUEMENI: This is an album that I hated at first, but now I am really getting into. The Source magazine gave it 5 mics, which I feel it did not deserve. Maybe 4.5. The album is excellent and very Un-Outkast like. This is a totally different vibe coming from the cats from ATL, GA. It had to grow on me. And I am not the first person to say this. I have heard many say that this is an album that started off terrible, but as they listened to it, and digested the complex messages within the song, then they started to feel it. The album has all of the elements of a masterpiece. It features a wide variety of artists, well not really wide, but the artist variety basically has to do with where the come from. "Skew It On The Bar-B" is an excellent example. WHo in the world would have thought that Raekwon would be doin an album with OutKast? I didnt. Excellent song. "Rosa Parks" is definately some next shit. I like it. "SpottieOttieDopalicious" and "Aquemeni" are the best songs, which showcase a combination excellent production skills and lyrics that make sense. Aquemeni (AH-KWE-MEN-EYE) basically is the combination of Aquarius and Gemini, or Big Boi's and Dre's zodiac signs. This is defiantely a classic. Not worth 5 mics in the Source, but a good 4.5 will suffice for me! RATING: 7.9 out of 10
