If you have trodden down the wrong path please do return... ßack to the §oul of Ðarkness

...*a voice echoes from the darkness surrounding you*...
Greetings Traveler!*evil laugh*...and welcome to my Darkness!....

....Do stay awhile and let the emptiness of my realm fill your soul?...

Perhaps a passage of worth to ease your mind?...To truly understand the
ambiance of this is to catch a glimpse into a Dreaded soul...

Me miserable! which way shall I fly

Infinite wrath and infinite despair?

Which way I fly is hell; myself am hell;

And, in the lowest deep, a lower deep

Still threatening to devour me opens wide,

To which the hell I suffer seems a heaven

-MILTON, Paradise Lost

How art thou lost! how on a sudden lost,

Defaced, deflowered, and now to death devote!

-MILTON, Paradise Lost

This world is but a thurghfare ful of wo,

And we ben pilgrimes, passinge to and fro;

Deeth is an ende of every worldly sore.

-CHAUCER, "The Knights's Tale"

know thyself.

- Inscription on the Delphic Oracle

Like one that on a lonesome road

Doth walk in fear and dread,

And having once turned round walks on,

And turns no more his head;

Because he knows a frightful fiend

Doth close behind his tread.

-SAMUEL TAYLOR COLERIDGE, The Rime of the Ancient Mariner

The life of man [is]...nasty, brutish, and short.

-THOMAS HOBBES, Leviathan

Hap

If but some vengeful god would call to me

From up the sky, and laugh: "Thou suffering thing,

Know that they sorrow is my ecstasy,

That thy love's loss is my hate's profiting!"

.

Then would I bear it, clench myself, and die,

Steeled by the sense of ire unmerited;

Half-eased in that a Powerfuller than I

Had willed and meted me the tears I shed.

.

But not so. How arrives it joy lies slain,

And why unblooms the best hope ever sown?

--Crass Casualty obstructs the sun and rain,

And dicing Time for gladness casts a moan...

These purblind Doomsters had as readily strown

Blisses about my pilgrimage as pain.

Darkness Forever

Darkness surrounds me,

Not the gentle blackness

Of a silent night,

But that of black emotion.

And I like it.

I pull it closer around me;

It keeps me warm,

Fueled by my mind's

Feverish imaginings.

Look not upon me,

In this cloak of shadows,

Unless you are ready to face me.

For, at this moment,

I am anger, I am hate,

I am vengeance;

And I am enjoying it,

Every tortured breath,

Every fearful glance.

The darkest pleasures I drink

Relishing the feel of them,

Earthy silk on my tongue

Like crimson blood.

Look not upon me,

Supping on your pain;

Unless you can withstand

The knowledge that your heart

In a part you push away

Wants to be like me

In darkness forever.

Bubbling up through the cracks

In this beat up heart;

Ebony with blood red tones

It comes, unstoppable.

Washing away the barriers

Of polite restraint.

It fills me with a heat

That I can no longer deny.

And I snap.

Words pour out of me

Carried in the flow

Of my anger, like lava

That seeps from my soul

Pain letting it loose

To harden my heart

To any conscience

And surround the one

Which has caused my anger

In flames.

The man, they say, is cold and dark

Even though he can turn up the charm (and heat)

He's trouble; not even hidden under a disguise

They say without conflict his life's not complete.

But I've seen him flinch as life he tries to distance

And I've seen a smile with no malice inside

Pain when so-called friends turn and strike him

Glimpses of the soul he tries to hide.

I say it coming, rage finally turning outward,

The hurt and the emotions you've at last understood;

yes, I'll stand by and condone it happening

For I understand it full better than most think I should.

Cause I've seen more light in the some supposed darkness

Then I've seen in some places touched by the sun

Forget appearences, for they never mean as much

The truth is in what is said and is done.

THE BITE

The moist softness of your ruby lips quickens my pulse.
I watch as your tongue slowly slide over them,
leaving them wet and shiny.
You smile,
exposing your fangs,
Surprising myself, I tremble with desire.

I reach to pull you close,
begging you to taste me.
Just mere inches from your mouth,
I feel your breath warm against my tender skin.

You step closer,
sliding your arms around me,
licking the smoothness of my silky neck.

Panting breathlessly,
I quickly move away,
offering you my blue lined wrist instead.

You take it
and with a hunger you never knew existed
sink your teeth deep into my veins.

My blood flows into your greedy mouth,
hot and salty.
Your thirst by far unquenched.
You want more . . . You want it all.

You pause with your feeding,
looking up at my face,
noticing for the first time
my eyes glowing red behind my dark shades.

My parted lips hide a secret . . .
I smile down at you,
daring you to see me as I truly am.
My canine teeth extend,
a wicked laugh escape

Feeling the power that flows within your body,
I savor the essence of the life you last drank . . .

Who was it?

The one before me, was he lovely?

Was he sweet?

Gazing deeply into your soul,
hunger fills my senses.
My long sharp nails slip leisurely down your back,
then seductively move upward towards your shoulders . . .

One word cruises through my mind . . .
Carotid . . .

Who is the victim?

My nails lightly scratch at your neck,
my fingers slowly sink into soft skin,
the warmth of your blood sprays down my hands . . .
I lick at it madly,
engrossed by the rush of this hunt . . .

Who is the hunted?

You wonder,
my strong arms grab you and pull you close once more.
I whisper in a sultry hoarse voice
"When was the last time you tasted one of your kindred?".

I probe deeply into your memory,
my lips covering yours,
devouring the lingering drops of my own blood.

I was feeling drained,
Now I am alive once more,
if only for a little while.

One more victim . . .

One less enemy that roamed the streets at night. . .

I release your body,
it falls from my grasp with a dull thud.

As I turn to walk away,
your quiet question invades my mind.
You raise up your head
with your last remaining strength whisper to me,
Why?

Why?" My scream echoes within your brain.

"Why?

ecause we are different, you and I.
We have never been the same.

You feed upon the innocence of others,
I feed up upon the corruption
that you cover yourself in.

I did not ask to be this way,
I was not offered a choice.
If I had, things would be different.

The fight has been hard,
but I have conquered the urge to dine upon,
the weak and helpless,
the homeless and hungry.
The easiest of prey.

The easiest of prey.

So now I seek the most wicked of my kind
and take what does not belong to them.

I give them back what they have lost along the way.

I am the danger that most vampires fear.

I am the destruction . . .

I am humanity.

That is why . . . "

The bubbling sound
that was eliminating from my prey stops.
I turn and walk away,
not once looking back.

I never knew if he heard me or not,
I didn't care.
