A girl called Anastasia emailed this story to me, I couldn't decide where it should go, so I put it in a new section. I found this really stupid, I mean everyone has their own freedom to like and be whoever they want. They shouldn't be given a hard time for it. Here's the letter:
I have a neat but unfortunately true
experience. O.K. here goes. I love Hanson. but my whole school Hates them because
they think they're gay. Ha. Anyway, I went out and got this really cool
t-shirt that cost $20.00.
The first time I wore it to school, all I got was ridicule. You know,
stuff like.. You like Hanson, and oh God, you are so gay(which I'm not) and
you are such a stipid freak. The second time I wore it, they got physical. You
know, pushing, shoving, hair-pulling, stuff like that. And they gave me rude
nicknames which I am proud of, cause I don't care what anybody thinks
of me. They all call me "Hanson Girl" and "Middle of Nowhere Girl" and really
mean stuff. Now, this doesn't really seem that mean, but if you listen to
how they say it, your blood runs cold. I love descriptive words. Also, I am only
12 and in 8th grade, so I am more prone to get picked on. These people
actually think that I'll decide I want to be "cool" more than I want to be me.
So, anyway, yesterday was picture day at my school and I wore my Hanson
t-shirt, just to prove that I'm me and nobody else. They are now going to kill
me. Honestly, they are trying to. They said I ruined the yearbook. I was
walking down the halls and I heard some boy say" I ought to rip that shirt
right off her back and stuff it right down her Hanson loving throat." I have had
people tell me that they are going to murder Zac( they know he's my favorite cause I
carry a picture of him in my folder, just to remind me that they put up
with this to.) during a concert in Jacksonville that I am going to and say
if I didn't like them so much they wouldn't have bothered. Isn't that nasty
and weird ? I wonder why they don't just leave me alone. It's kind of like
they are saying that I am a rebel and ought to join the power of the Dark
Side of the Force. What do they care, anyway? Well, I have to go so I'll
summarize this real quick.
You might like Hanson if you wear your Hanson t-shirt to school on
picture day after everyone in your whole school picks on you and calls you dirty
names for wearing it before and not caring when a kid shoves you from
behind because you are wearing it.
