My Friends
Heyo, I can't do too much with this site until my scanner is working again,
but basically what it is, a place to give credit where credit it due. My friends
have had a major part in making me who I am, and so I'm giving something back to
them. A page, just for them! Enjoy the small bit I do have so far, this first
picture is of my youth pastor and his beautiful wife and adorable son.
Don (on the right) and Charlotte (on the leftt) came into my life one day in
early December of '97. My youth group had been without a youth pastor for about
six months, and Don was a possible canadite. Me and my friend Kelly (to be added
at a later date) went to church early, basically cause we felt like it.
We heard Pastor Steve (senior pastor) talking, and then he came through the
door with a young looking couple. It turned out that this guy who didn't look to
be too much terribly older than me, was Don. We were the only people there, so
we had a few minutes to talk. Charlotte was three months pregnant with their first
child, who was nicknamed Little 'E' because they were going to name em either
Emily Grace, or Donald Elijah.
Don taught my sunday school class the next day, pretty much everyone liked
him. He was nervous, and not the most at ease, but it was a good lesson, that I
still carry my notes to.
Early '98, it was official, he was here to stay. January 19th was his first
day, we went roller skating on that day, and he scared me by screaming in my ear.
Guess that's what I get for telling him that we like to scare people...
Over time, I grew very fond of and very close to both Don and Charlotte. In
June, Charlotte gave birth to Donald Elijah, a baby who we all consider a miracle
with everything that happened. Elijah, as he's called, is the center of attention
for almost all the girls in youth group.
Don and Charlotte are both major parts of my life, in only a short year we've
been through all sorts of things together, not all good, but none that I regret.
Little E has given me quite a few laughs, and I love them all the much more for
it. They have alot to put up with in me, but they do it with the love, kindness,
and patience that I know is only found in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Kelly S. is one of my most awesome, incredible, closet, and most hyper
friends! Ever since we shared a room at camp (along with Amy K) all the way back
when I was eight, we became friends faster than you can say MMMBop!
She's a year younger than me, but one of the most powerful impacts in my
life. She has taught me so many lessons, never taking the credit, but giving
credit where credit is due, pointing the way to the Cross.
Over the past two years she has begun developing an powerful Christian walk,
and I along with my other friends see it in her everyday life.
She has the same trials and problems as any teen in today's culture, but she
has one difference, she knows it can and should be better. She passes that attitude
along, and it's helped me through so many problems.
Kelly is just about the first person I turn to with my troubles, or to pass
along a prayer request. She has a soft heart towards others, and she loves to
help out whenever she can.
I look up to her so much in times of my troubles. I can always count on her
to correct me where i'm wrong, encourage me where i'm right, and put a smile on
my face.
She may be a year younger than me, but she is definatly a person who has
been a major factor in my life. With a Christ like attitude and energy to share,
Kelly is one of a kind!
