Chapter One
Just then my eyes fluttered open.
I let out a huge sigh of relief. It was only a dream!
That's when I saw him. The man with dark sunglasses and a gun. He reached for me and I was finally able to make my throat work.
"Get away from me!! Get away!!!!" I screamed. There was nothing around me to protect myself. Except the pillow.
I grabbed it and threw it straight at his face with all of my might. He went flying back over the edge of my bed, falling with a huge "thud".
There wasn't anymore movement.
I sat up on my bed and peered over the edge trying to see if he was alive. When I saw that he wasn't moving I smiled to myself and leaned against the backboard of the bed.
Zac jumped up.
"What in the WORLD are you doing?!? I was just waking you up! You didn't have to KILL me!!" he yelled, waving the squirt gun that he had in his hand around. His sunglasses were messed up from the hit, so I was only able to see one big brown eye.
I had to keep myself from bursting out laughing. I threw another pillow at him, lighter this time.
"I was having a dream--no wait--a nightmare. A horrible nightmare. This guy, with sun glasses and a gun," I pointed to him, "was chasing me." I giggled, rolling over and sitting up, letting my feet dangle off the side of the bed.
Zac, utterly confused, looked at the gun still in his hand.
"It's Mackie's," he said shortly.
I looked at him. "Huh?"
"The squirt gun. It's Mac's. He was chasing me with it, trying to soak me. So I took it away from him." He smirked, aimed the gun at my head, and squirt.
Before I could even let a yelp out, he was out the door and running downstairs. I was right behind him.
"You're DEAD blonde boy!!" I screeched.
I passed Mackenzie on the way down; he was playing with another squirt gun. I grabbed it from him and whizzed on down the hall.
"It's for a good cause!" I yelled to him.
As I reached the first floor, I stopped, looking around. Zac wasn't anywhere in sight.
Taylor stood in front of me, looking the least bit concerned.
"Where is he?" I said in an evil voice, while aiming the gun to his head.
He glanced at the gun and jacked his thumb behind him, looking quite bored with the whole charade.
A little blonde head peeked from behind Tay.
"You squealed!" he yelled, and hit his brother. Still hiding behind his shelter, he laughed at me. "You can't shoot him. Neener Neener," he mocked, sticking his tongue out.
"Watch it little man," I said and looked up at Tay. My gun was still pointed at him. I smiled evily.
"You wouldn't dare--" he started. I cut him off with a mouthful of water.
"Too late." I said, still smiling.
Zac thought that was the most hilarious thing he had ever seen, because he was on the floor laughing.
Taylor couldn't help but smile, but as he did, the water in his mouth dribbled down his chin.
"Oh how charming," I laughed. "You're soaked to the bone you know. This thing's got power." I looked at the gun still in my hand.
It was Tay's turn to smirk. He took a step closer to me and wrapped his arms around me, soaking my clothes.
"Ugh!!" I screeched, trying to push him away. Zac, still on the floor, started laughing even more.
"You are hilarious!!" he tried to get out between hiccups. Taylor and I waited until Zac's laughs subsided to small giggles before we helped him up. I walked over to the couch, flopping on it, squeezing the excess water out of my tank top.
I looked up at the two brothers who each took a chair opposite of me. They looked so much alike. Their long blonde hair was about the same length: Down to their shoulders. The only huge difference was that Zac was a few inches shorter than Taylor was and Zac had brown eyes, while Taylor had piercing blue.
"What are you guys doing here, anyway? This is my house you know." I asked.
Just then Mackie came thudding down the stairs and walked over to me. He just stood there, with his hand out-stretched to me, palm up. I looked at him, smiled, and handed over the gun.
"This thing's got power you know." I said, then leaned over and whispered in his ear. Zac looked at Tay, confused, but Taylor only shrugged.
Mackenzie looked at me, nodded, and walked over to Zac. He stood in front of him just as he did me. But he then drew the gun up, aimed for Zac's head and squirt right between his eyes. Mackie then ran out the front door, obviously heading home next door.
"Got ya." I said shortly, smiling.
Taylor was snickering and Zac shot him a look. Tay shut up.
Because of some "technical difficulties" my chapters are seperated. I will try to end them at decent places, but I'm not sure how well it will work out. Click on the link below for the rest of Chapter One. Sorry!
