You would first grind the mixture. Then, two different methods could be used to separate the iron and sulfur. Using a magnet to attract the iron is the easier way. The second option is to use an acid that will dissolve iron, but not sulfur. Later, you would use another chemical process to transform the dissolved iron back into a metal.
