To Betty's Haven

A letter to Kathy
As I remembered your birthday this year, I put out some of your pictures, your book I made and some of your things on display as a memorial to you, I thought how good it would be to just write you a letter my sweet Kathy. So here goes.............

Dear Kathy:
You would not believe the changes in this world since you went away in 1973. You would not believe the changes in my (your mom's) life, as it is hard to believe myself  when I take the time to really think about it.  There are computers,
the internet, email, web pages and unbelievable graphics that move and dance as we choose to make them do. Email is so fast and something you never even heard of on this earth in your lifetime. You would have loved it! To send letters to your friends in seconds instead of days or sometimes weeks. You would have loved seeing and building web pages to reach out and touch people who you would otherwise never meet. Kathy, I have built lots of web pages for you in your memory and I just love to see "you" come "alive" on the screen of my monitor as I view your many pages. I see you as a sweet cute little baby. I see you as a cute toddler with your beautiful curly blond hair. I see you as a school girl in your dresses I made for you. I see you as a beautiful teenager just starting to high school. I know how you enjoyed
life to the fullest. Your laughter, your smile and your sweet disposition in life comes "alive" again as I see the pictures and hear the music on your web pages. Kathy, I am so glad I had you for 14 years and 14 days to build memories that had to last for a lifetime without you. I love you and miss you very much, but you still seem so close and I "really" do reach out and "touch" you on my screen as I view you on your pages.
Love, Mom

Now it is Oct 6-2012 and there are so many things since I wrote this to you my dear Kathy. There are laptop computers, highspeed internet, cell phones and text messages. A person can send pictures right on their cell phones and send video clips too. There are also IPads and Kindles. You would love all these gadgets that do so much. I still miss you so much and today being your birthday, I have been reading the book I made about you and looking at the pictures in it. I have also been viewing all the web pages on my site about you. I have some more news to tell you. Your uncle Leroy died in Aug of this year. I miss him too. Well, Happy Birthday my sweet Kathy. I will see you when I get to Heaven. I love you.
