James (Ryding)Ridings b. abt 1615 London, Eng. m. at age 19 and came to Virginia. He had a son Thomas Rydings b. 1640 Accomack, VA. m. Rose Ann Yeardly. Thomas, according to Accomack, VA records, had no heirs. Thomas' brother Hugh and nephew, William claimed his property. I have a son listed, William Ridings I b. 1680 in VA. m. Sallie in Rowan Co, NC. William and Sallie Ridings had a son William Ridings II b. 1715 he m. Ruth Pearson. William and Ruth Ridings had five children; William III, James, Isaac, JOHN, and Thomas Ridings. John Ridings m. Polly Elizabeth Gentry and had the following children; Jessie, John Jr, Agnes(Aggie), Jane(Jannie), Martha (Patsy), Sussanna(Suckie), Nancy, David, Judith, ISAAC, Dinanah (Dicey), and Sarah (Sallie) Ridings. If the dates are correct on John and Polley m. in 1757 and thier first child wasn't born until 1777 its unlikely that these were thier children.
