If you don't know where to look for Yuffie, you can easily pass her right by. She appears in fighting sequences in wooded areas. You can first get her just north of Junon. She appears in about one in every eight battles, so have a little patience. You might not want her, but I think she's worth it. Even though I don't fight with her, you have to have her to see one of the most amusing scences in the game. So if you want her, here's how.
1.DON'T save at the save point.
2.When she says she wants a rematch, say you aren't interested.
3.When she wants to know if you're afraid of her say 'petrified'.
4.When she announces that she's really gonna leave, say 'wait a sec'.
5. When she asks if you want her to join, say 'that's right'.
6.When she asks if you want to know her name, say 'Let's hurry on.'
That's how to get Yuffie. If you don't do it right, she'll steal several hundred gil from you. More every time you flub it up. When she finally joins you, she says she gave it all back, but actually pockets half. So do it right on try #1!
Yuffie was born in Wutai. She's a great liar and an even better thief. She pissed me off at times, but she amused the hell out of me too. She gets sick on every vehicle you ride, so it's fun to have her along just to talk to every now and then. I've been to numerous websites that have voted her 'Most Annoying Character', but I personally kind of liked her. Her limit breaks aren't as powerful as, say, Cloud's or Tifa's, but she's a good character to have around just for her lines.
