Cloud is the character you play as (most of the time). He declares that while he doesn't care about Shinra or Soldier, he doesn't care about the planet either. In fact, he's only along because of a promise he made to Tifa a few years back. He said he'd come save her if she 'was ever in a bind'. Well, I guess this qualified, cause she sure managed to drag Cloud along. Good thing, too; otherwise there wouldn't have been a game. I have to say, Cloud was completely clueless to the fact that both Tifa and Aeris were falling head over heels for him-- and it amused the hell out of me.
