I have always had trouble understanding how "GRACE" and "THE LAW" worked together. These verses have really helped me to clarify any misconceptions I might have had in the past! I hope they benefit you, too!

(Titus 2:11 KJV) For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

(Titus 2:12 KJV) Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Grace is more than just the "unmerited favor" that I have always been taught! We are saved by GRACE, but GRACE did not do away with the law. GRACE teaches us to obey the law...to deny ungodliness and worldly lust,to live soberly, righteously, and godly lives....IN THIS PRESENT WORLD!

When we are saved, the Holy Spirit writes the Law upon our inward parts....our hearts....this is GRACE...when we have GRACE...we are grieved when we make mistakes and fall into sin. We begin to understand that SIN displeases GOD! We begin to realize that everytime we sin we PERSONALLY offend God. And although we have the assurance of our salvation, we do not engage in willful sin because we do not wish to GRIEVE the GOD in whom we have placed our trust. We LOVE Him too much for that...we want to please him....as a BRIDE wishes to PLEASE her future GROOM!

GRACE to YOU, and PEACE....from GOD our FATHER and the LORD JESUS CHRIST!
