A fun little thriller :) Easy to criticize, but fun.

---------------------

Beginning Notes: Every year at certain Ivy League colleges an elite group of students is chosen to join Secret Societies. Unlike fraternities, these Secret Societies conceal their actions as they mold the leaders of the future. At least 3 U.S. Presidents are known to have been members. The most powerful Secret Society has always been... The Skulls.

---------------------

Will: What's the matter? You gonna turn into a pumpkin at midnight? Or are you worried you're not gonna turn into a skull?

Luke: Hey, I'd join the Girl Scouts if they'd pay for my grad school, which the Skulls supposedly do.

Will: Supposedly, supposedly.

---------------------

Luke: You know, I got my Harvard Law Application today.

Will: How much they raise tuition?

Luke: Oh, it's just over three grand this year.

Will: Damn. Three grand?

Luke: Three grand. Which means that even with a dozen or so part-time jobs and my scholarships - excuse me - I'm still gonna owe this university let's say... a hundred grand, hundred ten thousand when I get out.

Will: Mm, hmm. Don't forget the interest.

Luke: So, even if I can get everything deferred, I'm gonna owe this school a hundred and ten grand and Harvard Law, like another what? Hundred, hundred and fifty?

Will: That means you're gonna have to get one of those exciting amazing corporate law jobs and work 80, 90 hours a week.

Luke: And then, and then I can afford a car.

Will: A used car.

Luke: A used car! And you know how attractive the ladies find those, right?

Will: Which means you'll get no play what-so-ever, even less than you get now, which is like...

Luke: Which is like what?

Will: None.

Luke: Thanks, oh, hey I appreciate that. So when I finally do get free and clear to practice the kind of law that I want to practice-

Will: Then you'll be ten years from a heart attack and a few more from the grave.

Luke: Precisely.

Will: Yeah.

Luke: My future's killing me. It's killing me.

---------------------

Will: All I know is that if it's secret and it's elite, it can't be good.

---------------------

Caleb: Where in the world did you learn to do that?

Luke: Skills of a misbent youth.

---------------------

Ames: So, Caleb, what are your plans?

Caleb: I'm just treading water, waiting to see what happens.

Litten Mandrake: Well, then your arms must be getting tired.

Caleb: They are, dad. Because you keep throwing me in the deep end of the pool.

---------------------

Luke: Sully, I'm real sorry I missed your birthday last weekend.

Old Friend: You know what, hey, if you want to confess, St. Something or Other's down the street so why don't you just roll yourself into there, huh?

Luke: I'm not kidding this time. I'm in real trouble here, okay? If you don't help me, Sully's birthday is not gonna be the last one that I miss, including my own, you understand?

Old Friend: Why should we help you? Huh, Lukey?

Luke: I don't know. Maybe you feel like turning the other cheek or perhaps you want to be forgiving or maybe, just maybe, yuo want to try and be a better friend to me than I've been to you. Come with me for a second. But more than likely, you want to take a look out of this window because you'll probably see a '63 T-bird convertible, dual-exhaust, 4-barrel carb, and fully-restored original red leather interior. It belongs to me. You help me out, it belongs to you.

---------------------

Luke: I have a friend, and he's made some decisions, but it turns out that they were all wrong.

Chloe: Why? Why were they wrong?

Luke: Because he was selfish and because he was greedy. And he thought that they would give him everything that he ever wanted, but all that they ended up giving him was disaster. So now, this friend of mine, he can go out on a limb, and that limb could get cut off. But everything about being on that limb's right. So what do I do?

Chloe: You should sit down and you should treat me like a friend and tell me the truth.

---------------------

Luke: You told me there are always wars to be fought. This was your war.

Ames: Yes. And the good guys won.

Luke: Nobody won.

Ames: Not true. Mandrake's finished. He'll never be confirmed to the federal court. I'll become Skull Chairman. You'll be exonerated and help me lead the new generation of skulls into the future.

Luke: You know, someone I loved once told me that if it's secret and elite, it can't be good. He was right. You used me.

Ames: No, Luke. I helped you, taught you how to make the world work for you. For us. Do you truly believe you can walk away from this? All we've given you? And someday when I call on you for a favor, will you be able to deny me? And if you deny me, will it jeopardize the life you've built for your wife and your family? I don't know if you can live with those doubts.

Luke: Watch me.

Ames: (said as Luke is walking away) Well done, son. Well done.
