About Me

I suppose you've come to learn a bit about who I am, eh? Well, my name is Nykee. I am a 17 year old girl from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. I just graduated from high school on June 6, 2003. This coming October I will begin my schooling as a Child Care Management major at Central Pennsylvania College. Currently I work in a child care center in Mechanicsburg on weekdays, and a women's dress store near New Cumberland on Saturday mornings.

I am 5'10" without shoes. I am Sicilian, Irish, and Ukrainian. I have dark hair with fading red highlights. Its about shoulder length, but layered. I have brown and green eyes, but not hazel. I can see only through the aid of glasses or contacts (usually contacts). I wear black most of the time because it suits me... I suppose people label me as "Goth". Doesn't matter what you want to call my style. All other physical description can probably be seen in my "Pictures" section of the page.

I live in a brand new town house in Mechanicsburg with my mother. I also have two dogs--a Shih-Tzu and a German Shepherd. I have three older brothers, none of which are married. Their names are Vin, Bob, and Tom. Vin lives with his girlfriend, Cathy, who I hope to have as a sister someday. Bob lives on his own on Long Island, NY and attends Hofstra University. Tom lives with his girlfriend, Michelle, in Ephrata, Pennsylvania. She is due to have a baby girl on May 4th. I cannot wait. My father lives in Ohio. He owns a cards & gifts shop, and sits in it and drinks and smokes 7 days a week. I don't keep in touch with him much, as he never seems to want to talk to me.

My biggest issues with society, in a nutshell, are:

1. Abortion. I truly believe that life begins at conception, and it is in no way acceptable to take the life of the child just because he/she is not born yet. So many people just believe what people say about the baby; that its just a ball of tissue, etc... but if they'd do a little bit of research they'd find out otherwise. Life is an amazing thing, and I cannot believe anyone would want to take the innocent life of a baby.

2. Mothers going to work. Another issue that I stand firm on is that I do not believe mothers of young children should be working. I think that women entering the work force ruined the American Dream and America's society all together. Children are now raise by day care workers, who are only required to have a high school degree to take care of them, instead of their parents. Day care workers, and I can say this because I am one, are more like parents to these kids than their real parents are... and then parents have the nerve to get upset/angry when their kid refers to us as "mommy". I think you must choose between a career and children. If you decide on children, you can still have a career once the kids are older, but you should definitely put the kids first in every case.

3. Capital Punishment. I am a firm believer in punishment by death, and I do not think it is given often enough. I honestly can't see why it is so controversial. Yes, occasionally they might slip up and the wrong person is punished... but if the person didn't do the crime, then what have they got to worry about? Dying and going STRAIGHT to Heaven? Its not like our capital punishment is painful. In my opinion, its way too humane! Especially in cases of man slaughter.
