Chapter 2 of Love, Pain and Everything In Between

The next day at school, Colleen was nervous going in. She knew Sara wouldn't tell anyone, but she had a bad feeling. There had been an email from Taylor when she got home from her (successfull) volleyball game. Colleen's last email had asked if she was invading their privacy by emailing them at their private address. Taylor had said no, he liked "hearing from her" and that she was "pretty cool." So, Colleen was floating on air, but her happiness was over-shadowed by her fear of shcool that day. Oh, well, here goes she thought, pushing open the doors and walking in. Then, in Colleen's 2nd hour class, Spanish, Sara sent her a note that said, "Were those emails really from Hanson?" Oh, no, what am I going to say? Colleen thought. I knew she saw the emails! Not wanting to lie to her friend, Colleen wrote back, "I think so," and wrote nothing more. Sara, however, wrote back, "Can I have their addy?" "Why?" Colleen asked. "You don't even like them!" "Just give it to me!" she wrote. "Okay. but you have to swear you won't give it to anyone else, and email only once, and DO NOT tell them you got their email from me." Colleen wrote the email address down and passed the note back. Sara smiled at Colleen and mouthed the words "I swear," and held up her hand, girl-scout fashion. She lost the note before 4th hour.
"Colleen?" Sara asked hesitently.
"Yeah?" Colleen replied, wary.
"I, um, sort of, um, kinda lost your note." Sara said sheepishly.
"Oh, no!!!" Colleen groaned. "Where!"
"I don't know!" Sara cried. "Somewhere in the hall! There was a hole in my pocket!"
"We HAVE to find it!" Colleen yelled. Just then two of the biggest jerks in her class, Tim and Bob, came up to her.
"Find what?" Tim asked. "This?" he waved her note in front of her face.
"Where did you get that?!" Colleen cried.
"It was on the floor. "It's mine now!"
"Give it back!!" Colleen yelled. Sara came over to help her get the note back, but soon all the boys were playing keep-away with Colleen's note. They all either read it to themselves or out loud, too. Finally, Colleen stood on a chair and spoke to the whole room. "Yes, that is Hanson's email, yes, I do email them, and no, no-one was supposed to know."
"Fine!" said Tim. "Who wants to email those queers anyway?"
"Tim, you will regret saying that." Colleen said under her breath as she tucked the note safely into the pocket of her jeans. "Mark my words, you will regret that."
