Chapter Three

When we were done, we ran back off the field and into the bleachers. We all had our little cliques on the line, but so did every other sport. I sat with Sam, Erica, Tiff, and Amy. My best friend in our group was Sam. She had long, brown naturally curly hair with deep brown eyes. Everybody on the line was skinny with perfect complexions, and had been taking lessons and or performing since they could walk. Sam and I were both sophomores. I was tall, honey blond wavey hair to my shoulders, and sky blue eyes. Sam and I had known eachother since fourth grade, and have been as close as sisters. We left our group to wander around.
"How do you think you did Maddy?"
"I think I did okay, but I can only hope I did great."
"I'm sure you did. Like usual."
"How'd you do?"
"Well, my timing was off for the splits. I went down earlier than anyone else, so I had to hold them longer."
"That's not too bad. Everybody always struggles with that part."
"Yeah, I know, but nobody screwed it up when we actually had to do it though."
"It's okay. It's done and over now."
"Thank heavens." We ended up at the snack bar, where Amy, Erica, Marie and Emily were standing against the wall, lounging, watching the boys walk by.
"You guys act like you have nothing better to do." I said with a smile.
"We don't." Emily answered.
"You guys wanna know who's really cute?" Sam asked them.
"Who?" They all replied at once, eagerly watching Sam.
"Number thirty two on the other team. He's hot."
"When did you see him?" Amy questioned.
"When we were going onto the field, they took off their helmets to watch us dance. Wow." A big grin took over her face. i rolled my eyes at the group of girls, and pretended to barf. Sam saw me.
"That's easy for you to say Maddy. You and your million boyfriends. You and Trey have been going steady for how long now? You don't need to check out boys. Trey has everything a girl could ask for."
"Three months next Friday. He's wonderful."
"Isn't he number twenty seven on the varsity soccer team?" Marie asked me.
"Yeah."
"He's so fine." Erica and Emily sighed. The refferie blew his wistle, and called a break because of the heat. The football players came off the field and headed in our direction.
"Look out girls, flirt your best, the football guys are coming." I announced. The girls leaned against the wall and did their best to show off for the boys. Even Sam went against the wall. I was facing the girls, laughing and shaking my head when my skirt was flipped up. i spun around to see who did it. Then my pony tale was tugged on from the other side. I spun back around, but everybody kept walking by as if nothing had happened. When they were standing in the line, they'd stair at me. Someone put their hands on my shoulders and planted a kiss on my right cheek. I turned around to find myself in Trey's arms.
