Chapter Eight
At five thirty, about twenty five to thiry people were milling around in my house. I gathered everybody into the living room. I turned on some music, brought out some food and got everybody happy and dancing. Finally I nodded to Brittney. I stood on the couch and made my announcement.
"Everybody, you all HAVE to dance to this next song- just kidding. Are we having fun yet?"
"Yeah!"
"Okay." I got off the couch and put our song on. Everybody began dancing again. After the song wa over, I stopped the music and got back on the couch.
"What did you all think of that song?"
"Cool!"
"Great!"
"Awesome!"
"Wonderful. I'm glad you liked it."
"Who was that anyway?" Somebody asked.
"They haven't decided on a final name yet, but they're here. Mallory, Monica, Brittney, Megan, come on over here." They came over and stood on the couch next to me.
"We're the ones who sing that song." There was dead silence.
"We don't believe you. That's too good a song." Someone shouted.
"Fine. Everyone, follow me." I led them all to our studio. The new band went to their instruments and played the exact same song. When we were done, everyone clapped and danced around.
"You're signed!" My dad called from the back of the room.
"Oh my God!" We screamed. We had a group hug and jumped up and down. Finally everybody calmed down.
"People, you can go home now. Thank you!!!!" Eventually everyone was out of my house, except for us.
