Chapter Fourteen

Fourth, fifth and sixth hour went by slowly. I was looking forward to going home and just be able to relax. The minute I entered the house-
"April!!!"
"What dad!"
"You need to come with me on a couple of errands." He came into the entryway carrying two huge bags.
"What kind of errands?"
"First we need to stop at the place that has all our cassettes and c.d.'s, pick those up. Then we need to stop at the place that has the jackets for the cases, and we're gonna spend the evening folding the covers and putting the tapes and c.d.'s together to send to the wrapping place so they can chip 'em to the stores. Ready?" I dropped my backpack on the floor then left the house. We stopped at the tape/c.d. place, drove home, dropped those off, then picked up the jackets. When we arrived home, we began putting the tapes and c.d.'s together. When Courtney came home, dad made her help too. We worked on folding and putting together our tapes and c.d.'s. We stayed up till ten, only stopping to have dinner. We had spent five hours working on those things. By the time ten rolled around, we were finished and our fingers hurt, and dead tired. Courtney and I went to bed while mydad went to drop the c.d. off personally to the local radio station. In my room, I turned on the radio, waiting to hear it. My dad came back and told me that the song will be played in fifteen minutes. I immediately called Brittney, Megan, Monica and Mallory, telling them the wonderful news. I got a tape ready to record. And sure enough, five minutes later, it happened.
"Listen up people. I was just handed a new song that I'm allowed to play as of ten fifteen tonight. If you love the song, singles will be in the stores for sale tomorrow. The name of the song is 'No Love's Left' by an all girl group 'HOJJA'. Here it is." He played the song, and I danced around my room. When the song was done, the d.j. guy began talking about it again. "The phones are ringing off the hook! Hello, you're on the air."
"Ah, yeah hi. This is Mike. I was wondering, um, how old is that group that sings that song you just played?"
"Well, judging from the picture on the cover, they're all about fifteen or sixteen at most."
"Wow. Alright, thanks. Bye."
"Hello. Line two, you're on the air."
"You just said that you have a picture of them. What do they look like and how many are there? Oh- this is Jack- I'm sixteen."
"Well, Jack, there's five girls. If you want to know what they look like, go look at the single tomorow. As for the rest of the callers that are curious about this new group 'HOJJA', I'll talk to you off the air. I will say, though, that these girls are fine. Watch out for the one in the black dress. Wow!" They played the Backstreet Boys, so I stopped my tape. Then my phone rang.
