Chapter Seven
"Wow Tay. She called you Tay." Zac said.
"I told her to."
"You actually talked to her?!" Ike asked.
"Yeah. Her grandma's not here right now. Maybe we can get her to stay a while when she comes back."
"Where is she?"
"In town with Kaitlin."
"Ohhh." They said.
"Hey Ike. Did you happen to notice that when we were talking, she never actually looked at us?" Zac pointed out.
"Yeah. That was weird. And how she knew all our favorite stuff."
"She knows who we are. She's totally aware of us." Tay explained.
"Well, obviously. But that doesn't explain why she was always looking past us and not at us." Ike said.
"I'll let you guys in on somehting." Tay said quietly. "The reason for that, and the reason she's been trying to avoid us, or me, is because the last time she started to become friends with a client, her wicked grandma poisoned her food to make her so sick she had to stay in bed for a month. She doesn't want to get friendly with us. But she deffinitely knows who we are. She is a fan of ours. If she wasn't, she wouldn't know what we liked, right?"
"I guess." They replied. A tap on the door sent Tay flying across the room to answer the door.
"Hi Angelique."
"Hey." I brushed past him and set the tray down and handed him his bowl of ice cream.
"Thanks." I turned to leave, but Tay reached out and grabbed my arm. My blood started rushing through my veins at his toutch. I looked in the general direction of his face. "Stay here and talk a while." He invited. Zac and Ike nodded in agreement.
"I can't. I have tons of work to do, and I should-"
"Don't do it. Stay here. Do the work later. Please?" I dared to look at his face. He was looking at me with those blue eyes of his, with a puppy dog look on his face. I looked quickly at the floor. He didn't let go of my arm.
"I shouldn't. I don't want-"
"Come on. Just a little while." He pleaded. I looked at Zac, who had also put on a puppy dog face. And Ike, well, he just sat there with a pleading look in his eyes.
"Oh- I suppose. But only a couple minutes." Everybody smiled and Tay dropped my arm.
"Great." A big smile replaced the puppy look. Tay pulled up a chair that was near by so I could sit. The three boys gathered around me.
"So you guys are here to make a video huh?"
"Yeah." They answered. A silence took over.
"Your name is Angelique?" Ike asked.
"Yes."
"And your sister is Kaitlin?" He continued. I smiled.
"Yeah." I looked at Tay, who was stairing at my ragged pony tail draping over my left shoulder.
