Chapter Eight
Taylor slowly walked back to his brothers.
"That sure was quick. " Zac said.
"Yeah, well, Dane came over and told her that her mom had an accident so she had to leave."
"Is that true or does he just not want Lenora to dance with you?" Ike asked.
"I don't know. Why don't you go ask Devon- the one that invited us? He'd know. You do it Ike." Tay volunteered his brother.
"Fine." He made his way to Devon who was standing by his house. "Hi Devon. I'm Isaac Hanson and I was wondering where Lenora is."
"She had to leave. Her mother's had an accident."
"Oh no. That's terrible."
"Yeah. She's on her way home now."
"Well, thanks."
"Sure." Ike went back and reported the true news to his brothers. ********************
Dane escorted me to our car.
"I'm sure she'll be okay. If she's anything like you, she'll be a fighter." We got in and took off for the airport.
"Dane, you should stay at the party. Go have fun."
"Nope. I'm sure your mom will be fine, but you need support now."
"You're wonderful Dane." We arrived at the airport, and hopped on a privat jet waiting to go across the country to New York.
********************
"I can't believe she's gone already. We just got here." Tay shook his head in disbelief.
"Atleast you got the chance to almost dance with her." Zac said bitterly.
"Well, it's over now. It's up to us to try and meet her again." Ike announced.
"We're not performing anymore, are we?"
"No Tay." Ike answered.
"And we're not talking to anyone but eachother, right?"
"Right Tay." Zac sighed.
"Then lets go home." Tay suggested.
"Okay." Zac whispered. "I'm bored anyway."
"We'll just tell Devon we have to leave right away to catch a flight to Florida." Ike made up. They nodded and went in search of Devon. ********************
"I wish this plane would hurry up."
"Calm down Lenora. We'll get there as soon as we can."
"How am I supposed th calm down? My mother's life could be ending now."
"It's not. Come sit down and have a glass of water." I decided to do what Dane suggested. My legs were getting tired of pacing the lenght of the plane anyway. He handed me a glass.
"I can't believe this is happening." I shook my head and looked into my glass. "I had to be so far away. Partying while my mom is in the hospital, dying."
"Hey. Wait. You had no idea this was going to happen. Don't lay that guilt on yourself." Dane told me. "Don't even say or think those kinds of thoughts." ********************
"I'm glad that this flight that's going to Tulsa had room for us." Ike said gratefully.
"Yeah. I'm getting tired."
"How can you be tired Tay? The day's just begun!" Zac shouted.
"Unlike you, I can actually get tired." Zac bounced around his brothers, excited to get home.
"Flight 268 for Tulsa, Oklahoma is now boarding." The stewardess crackled over the intercom speaker.
"Lets go home." Ike announced.
