Chapter Four
The next morning, her alarm went off at five am. She jumped out of bed, turned on her music, rushed through her shower, threw on some clothes and make up, grabbed her bag and purse, and was out the door in an hour, driving herself to the airport. Parking in the economy lot, she made her way suprisingly quick to her terminal for her flight at seven twenty.
"Brenda? Hey. It's Madilynn. Hi! Yeah, I'm here now, we're just taxiing up to the gate now. See you in half an hour? Kay. And I have a suprise for you. See you in a few. Bye." Madilynn couldn't wait to tell her what it was. She'd flip! Brenda was the only other girl she knew and was friends with that liked Hanson. The last concert Madilynn had gone to was with Brenda. And now, three years later, here she was, going to spend the night at her house, without telling any of her family that she was in town and going to another Hanson concert with a major bonus. She couldn't wait to see the look on Brendas face! Madilynn waited patiently for her turn to get off the plane, in no rush at all. Oh god was she excited! She walked off the plane with a grin on her face.
"Hi!"
"Hey!" Madilynn and Brenda hugged in the baggage claim.
"So what's the suprise? Is it Hanson related?"
"I have to tell you a story first." Madilynn grabbed her rolling suitcase and followed Brenda to her truck. "So how are your kids?"
"Great. Spill the beans."
"Alright. So it started when I went to the concert in Vegas a month ago today..." As she retold her story, Brenda had to pull into a gas station so she could listen. Madilynn pulled her camera out of her purse to show the pictures as she talked.
"Oh my god you're lucky," Brenda gasped.
Madilynn laughed. "Which leads me up to my suprise," she continued. "Since my conversation with Taylor last night, he said he'd leave me two, yes two backstage passes at the will call window for tomorrow night." As a grin spread on Madilynns face, she watched Brenda's eyes go wide along with her mouth.
"AAAAhhhh!!!" Brenda screamed, grabbing Madilynn in a hard embrace.
"And," she paused.
"And? There's an and?"
"And, we are, by Taylor's request, to walk next to him for some amount of time, even if it means pushing some one out of the way."
"Oh. My. God. You are the best!"
"Madilynn laughed. "I think that's Taylor."
"Oh, him too. This is amazing. Now we won't have to freeze our butts off to get close to them tomorrow."
"I know. That's an extra bonus for me. A relief more like."
"Miss from the warmth." Brenda teased, then began driving again. "Tell me about the walk."
So Madilynn did.
