"Hi, you must be Nicole," she said, as I walked over to her, "I'm
Donna!"
"It's nice to finally meet you, Mrs. Wright."
"Please, call me Donna. Sorry that we're going to have to rush but
the guys have a sound check at 5:00pm at the Disney stage so I need to
get back, asap!"
"That's okay I only packed one suitcase and a small duffle bag so we
shouldn't have to much trouble picking them up quickly."
We walked towards baggage claim and snagged my bags right away since
they were some of the first ones out.
"So are you ready for a lot of hard work this summer?" Donna asked.
"That's why I contacted you guys, I need to gain as much work
experience as I can before graduation, and since this is a major tour of
one of my favorite groups, I thought it would be ideal."
"Well, you shouldn't have too much trouble. It is difficult to get
used to road hours at first but from the looks of your resume you've got
a little road experience already."
It took about 30 minutes to get to the Park with all the traffic. We
decided just to go directly to the sound check so that I could be
introduced to all the crew. Donna and I walked over to the stage right
after parking.
"Hey guys," Donna yelled in a loud voice, getting their attention,
"This is Nicole, she'll be assisting you guys with lighting, set-up,
sound, and all other set-up stuff as well as miscellaneous work for me,
Johnny, and the boys. She has some road and tech experience already so
just kind of show her what needs to be done, she is hear to learn."
Everyone said hello, and I was introduced to Mike the crew leader.
Everyone and since they didn't really need me at the moment, we went to
find Johnny. We found him standing mear the buses out in the parking
lot, talking on a cell phone. He hung up just as we got there.
