Set Adrift on Memory's Bliss Chapter 5

Howie walked over to Geri, who was looking at the Mickey Mouse souveniers.
“Hi.” He said, trying to be friendly.
“Hi.” Geri replied, smiling.
“How are you?”
“I’m pretty good, and you?” Geri didn’t even turn around.
“I’m good. I’m so happy to see you.”
“Yeah, I’m happy to see you too!”
“You are? I thought you’d never wanna talk to me again.” Howie said. Big mistake. Geri sat and thought.
“You’re right, now that I think about it.”
“What?”
“You cheated on me, I don’t even know why I was happy to see you in the first place.” She turned her back on him and went back to looking at the Mickey Mouse souveniers.
“Come on, you won’t even look at me?” Howie pleaded.
“Why should I, are you going to be kissing another girl?”
“Please don’t start with that.”
“Why not? It doesn’t bother me.” She walked away, seeing a good looking guy, she headed his way. He was wearing a turquois polo with Mickey on it, so she assumed she worked there.
“Hi.” She said, flashing her million dollar smile. He turned around and smiled back, right away.
“Hey, can I help you?”
“I dunno, I was looking at these t-shirts and I couldn’t decided which would look best on my brother back home.” She lied, she only had a sister, much younger.
“Hmm... well maybe I can help. By the way, I’m Ted.” The worker said.
“Geri.” She said. They rummaged through some shirts. “I like that one. Hmm.. you look just about his size.” Howie had heard enough. He walked over, took her hand and pulled her outside. Geri, laughed to herself, she knew she was driving him crazy.
“What?” She asked.
“Stop that! You know that’s drivingme crazy!”
“Oh, really? I never coulda guessed by the look on your face.” Geri crossed her arms and looked the other way.
“Geri, can’t you see, I still have the feelings I did for you last summer!” He pleaded.
“Well, obviously they weren’t too strong then, so they aren’t too strong now. And besides, I don’t know if I have feelings for you.” She turned back to face him, her arms still crossed, and an upset look on her face.
“You’re not sure? Atleast that’s not a ‘No’.” He said, trying to get a joke across to ease the tense moment. Geri just glared at him. “That’s it!” And with that, he grabbed Geri by the shoulders and pulled her lips close to his.

“So, what should we do?” Lia asked. She and Nick were still walking with Brian and CC. CC and Brian were holding hands, but Nick was acting crazy and had hoisted Lia up on his back, giving her a piggy back ride.
“I dunno.” CC said.
“I don’t care, as long as I’m with you.” Nick said. Lia wrapped her arms around his neck lightly.
“Ya know, I really wish I could give you a kiss at the moment.” She joked. CC and Brian just laughed.
“They’re too cute together!” CC whispered to Brian.
“I know.” Brian said, squeezing her hand.
“You know what?” Nick asked.
“Nothing.”
“I coulda told you that.” Nick laughed at his own stupid joke.
“Okay, well I’m gonna end up killing you, and I don’t want to do anything to hurt you.” Lia said to Nick and jumped off his back. Nick turned right around, put his hands on her face, and pulled her in, giving her a passionate kiss.
“Whoa.” Lia blinked her eyes, as if she just regained conciousness. “What was that for?”
“You said you wanted to kiss me, and you were busy then, so the second you weren’t busy, I went for the steal.”
“Go Nick!” Brian so, giving him a high-five.
“Hey!” CC said.
“Wow, you’re certainly Mr.-Spur-of-the-Moment, aren’t you?”
“You gotta be.” He pulled her in for a kiss again.
“Well, I don’t mind it one bit.” Lia smiled. Nick wrapped his arm around her waste and they continued walking. CC and Brian couldn’t bare to look at eachother. They knew if they did, they’d burst into laughter.
“Well, we’re going to go on ahead, we should leave you to love-birds alone.” Brian said.
“Where ya going?” Nick asked.
“We’ll probably catch up with Jaci, Geri, and Jade.” CC said.
“And probably Kevin, Howie, and AJ if we know Jaci, Geri, and Jade!” Brian joked.
“You’re probably right.” CC smiled at him, and then kissed his cheek.
“Maybe we should leave you two love birds alone.” Nick teased.
“Haha. No, go ahead. Do you want us to meet you guys later?” Brian asked. Nick looked at Lia. She nodded.
“Sure, how about at 9 we’ll meet at the castle and then decide what we’re gonna do then.” He said, and looked at Lia smiling.
“Nick!” She said, not liking that smile. She knew what he was thinking.
“What?” Nick said innocently.
“Oh you two!” CC said. “Come on Brian. We’ll catch up with you guys lata.” CC said, and she and Brian walked off to the castle, to meet Jaci, Geri, Jade, and whoever else might be there.
“Where to now?” Lia looked at Nick.
“Somewhere dark.” Nick grinned.
“Oh you don’t know how scared I get when that grin forms on the gorgeous face of yours!” She laughed.
“You should be!” Nick teased

“Howie!” Geri exclaimed, pushing him away from her. He had just given her a long, passionate kiss, and she wasn’t sure what to think.
“Yeah?” He asked, with some sort of hopeful expression on his face.
“What do you expect me to do? I can’t just forget about it that easily, and things can’t just go on like last summer. I don’t want them too.” Geri said. She’d never had this much trouble with any guy. But Howie wasn’t just any guy. Her feelings were very strong for him, and she knew she’d take him back in a heart-beat. Playing hard to get was just to omuch fun, and especially too easy with Howie.
“I know that. Okay, well I promise to never do that to you again. I’ll never hurt you like that. Will you take me back?” He begged. Getting down on his knees, he started to sing to her. “All my life, I prayed for someone like you...” He went on, singing All My Life, by K-ci and JoJo. “Will you?” He asked after his song was done.
“Howie! I can’t believe you just did that! Of course.” She hugged him. “That was the sweetest thing someone’s ever done for me. Okay, the most embarassing, but still the sweetest!” She and Howie laughed. Together, they walked hand-in-hand.
Howie and Geri, AJ and Jade, Kevin and Jaci, CC and Brian, and Nick and Lia were all back together. It was just like last summer, except without all the trouble.
------------------------------
“Where’s Lia?” Jaci asked CC and Brian, as they walked towards everyone at the castle.
“Where’s Nick?” Geri and Jade asked together.
“They didn’t want to come back yet.” Brian answered, and CC gave his hand a small squeeze.
“They didn’t want to come back, together?” AJ asked. Everyone had a confused look on their face.
“They made up?” Howie asked.
“Yeah, they’re back together. And by the looks off it, so is everyone else.” They all looked around and smiled at eachother.
“Yeah, I guess so.” Kevin said.
“So, what do we do now?” Geri asked the group. A puzzled look came over all of their faces.
------------------------------
“Nick, are you sure you wanna go on this?” Lia said, she’d just finished her cotton candy, with the help of Nick, and wasn’t sure she could handle the ride.
“Of course! We waited in line for 40 minutes, we gotta ride it now.” Nick sounded excited. “Besides, being on a ride with you in the dark.....”Nick’s sly grin covered his face again, and he tickled her sides.
“Nick! Stop! I dunno if I can take all this! The tickling, the cotton candy, and now the ride. I’ll probably get sick. I’m not the biggest fan of rollercoasters.”
“Come on, you won’t get sick. Please.” Nick gave the puppy dog face.
“Okay,” Lia gave in, but only if you promise to hold on to me.” She smiled.
“I guess.” Nick let out a fake sigh.
“You guess?!”
“Just playin ya! I don’t see any problem with holding on to ya! In fact...” Nick wrapped his arms around her waste. Lia’s back pressed against his chest, and he leaned his chin on the top of her head.
“You two?” A worker asked. That brought up the memory of last year. Lia thought happily about the ride they had went on together and the worker asked the same thing.
“Yep.” Nick said happily.
Through the screams of Lia and the twists and turns of the ride, Nick held on to Lia tighly. She was sitting in front of him and he put his arms around her waste. Lia smiled as Nick’s hold got tighter.
“AHHH!!” Nick and Lia both screamed as the ride came to a huge drop. (Bare with me, I can’t remember the ride too well!)
“Wow!” Lia said, getting off the ride. She couldn’t walk in a straight line she was so dizzy. “Ohh..” She said, almost falling backward.
“Are you okay?” Nick sounded worried, put his arm behind her to hold her up steady.
“Yeah.” She shook her head. “I knew I shouldn’t have eaten all that cotton candy.”
“You’re probably right.” Nick’s other arm went across his stomach, he did feel a little queezy tool
“You okay?” Lia asked, seeing his arm across his stomach.
“Yeah, I’m fine.”
“Okay, good. Are you sure? Cuz if you aren’t, I’d sure try to make you better.” She giggled.
“Oh, come to think of it.... I’m not feeling to well.” Nick said, trying to sound whiney.
“Oh well, I’ll make it better.” She stopped and kissed him. Nick’s arms automatically went around her waist.
“Mmm...” He was all he was able to say, still kissing her. Lia glanced to the side. She pulled away quickly.
“Nick, look!” She cried and ran towards something.
“What?” He ran after her. Seeing her stop, he realized.
“It’s the water fountain. The first time you kissed me!” She said, sitting down on the side of it.
“Yeah.” Nick smiled. “It’s a historical site.”
“You bet.”
“Well, let’s make history again.” And Nick’s lips pressed against Lia’s.
