Set Adrift on Memory's Bliss Chapter 3

Nick walked around the park, a confused look on his face, in search of Lia. She was no where to be found. He began to think to himself, realizing how much of a jerk he had been. Now he really had to find her. Nick did still like her a lot, he wished he’d never done what he did last summer.
Brian and CC sat on the bench, in silence. Brian still hadn’t answered CC’s question. CC looked at him, glarring, waiting for an answer.
“I don’t know.” Brian stuttered the words out.
“Oh, so you just did it for the hell of it?”
“No.” Brian started. CC cut him off.
“Thankd Brian. Thanks a lot, for toying with my emotions.” With that said, CC crossed her arms and turned the other way, ignoring Brian.

Lia had run off, and spotted her sister in a crowd of people. Atleast it looked like Jaci. But Lia was unsure. Who’s hand was that around her waste? Who was she with. Lia walked a little faster.
“Jaci.” She called out. Her sister turned around, smiling. The guy she was with, looked like, Kevin! From last summer.
“Hey.” Jaci called Lia over.
“Kevin?” I asked.
“Nice to see you too Lia!” He joked, as I walked over to them.
“What are you doing her?”
“Always the friendly on. Just playin. I came with AJ and Howie. But uh, well I saw your sis, and I came to talk to her. AJ went of on a girl-searching adventure, and Howie, well he’s in some restaraunt testing the food of something.”
“So you didn’t come with Nick and Brian?” Lia asked, confused.
“No, they’re here?” Kevin asked.
“Nick... and Brian are here?” Jaci said at the same time. A worried look coming about her face.
“Yeah,” I said, ignoring my sister. “How come you’re not with them?”
“Well, I dunno. AJ and Howie just asked me to come, I didn’t feel like sitting around the place all day, so I came. Nick and Brian might have decided before us, and if they told us, I wasn’t paying any attention.
“Oh.” Alicia said. She then walked around for a little while with Kevin and Jaci.

“Great. Now we’re stuck in a 2 hour line, alone. And, to make matters worse. There’s not a cute guy in site.” Geri started to complain.
“Would you quit you whining! You’re the one who chose this stupid ride!” Jade said, getting annoyed.
“Okay, well I’m un-choosing it.”
“Yeah, okay whatever you say Geri.” Jade said. Geri never made any sense when she got annoyed and mad. Geri turned around and walked out of the line. Jade followed, not wanting to look stupid.
“So what do we do now?” Jade asked.
“I don’t know. Let’s walk around, check out the shops or something. Find where the cuties are, I dunno.” They agreed on walking around, in search of cute guys, and decided to go into a few shops to keep from boredom setting in.

Nick continued out, searching through the streets. He saw a few Lia-look alikes, but none quite the same. Then he saw her. Her back face him, she was leaning against a post, talking to some guy. Nick got a little angry but called out her name.
“Lia!” He cried. Not even a head turn.
“Alicia!?” He called out again. He ran up to her. Touched her back. She turned around. IT SURE WASN’T LIA. The guy’s face turned bright red.
“Oh, I’m sorry, I thought you were someone else.” Nick said, apologizing quickly, in fear of getting his ass kicked.
“Get outta here kid.” The guy yelled. Nick walked off in the other direction.

“Hey, did someone call my name?” Alicia asked her sister and Kevin.
“I don’t think so.”
“Sorry, I must be hearing things.” Alicia said glumly. She couldn’t get Nick off her mind.
“That’s okay. Cheer up.” Kevin said, trying to get her to smile. But she didn’t. Her attention wasn’t even focused on Kevin.
“Hey, Alicia? You okay?” He asked her.
“Yeah. Hey, 3’s a crowd, I think I’m going to go off and find CC and the others.”
“Okay, we’ll, or I’ll, catch up with you lata. I’ll page you and we can meet around the front gate. That okay?”
“Yep sure. Bye Jaci, bye Kev.” She walked over to a cotton candy booth. Seeing Kev and Jaci together made her sad. She was happy for them, she really was. But, Kevin really made her think of Nick, and them together made her think of the things that happened last summer.
“Alicia, Alicia Gordon?” Someone had called out her name. Lia turned around, to see Liz Jacobs and Ken Tucker heading toward her.
“Hey Liz, hey Ken.” She said, being friendly.
“How are you?! I haven’t seen you in forever! Okay, what a weeks since school’s been out.” Liz said, giving Lia a friendly hug. This made Alicia shudder, she hated Ken and just being around him, gave her chills. Liz was really nice though.
“Pretty good. And you?”
“Very good.” Liz said, “I was calling your name from way back there, was that your sister with you?”
“Yep.”
“Oh, I haven’t seen her in a long time eithter.” Liz saind. Ken wrapped his arms around her waste. “Well, we’re going to go! I’ll hopefully see you around this summer.” She said, and with that, she and Ken walked off, towards the games. It looked like Ken was going to try to win her a stuffed animal.
“Oh.” Alicia said hopelessly to herself. She felt the tears coming on. She continued walking, eating the cotton candy she had just bought. It didn’t suit her too well, she wasn’t in the mood for eating.

“CC, wait! I didn’t mean anything like that!”
“Oh okay.”
“Look, people change, and you certainly have. You’ve grown up since I last saw you, a lot. I was very suprised to see you change so fast.”
“Well people grow up, its what they do, Brian.”
“I know.” Brian said, taking CC’s hand in his. He thought. CC got a tingle going up her spine when Brian touched her hand. “I’ve been thinking a lot about last summer.”
“Yeah, so have I.” CC said, pulling her hand away. Brian grabbed it again.
“CC, I really like you. I want to give what we had last summer another chance.” Brian got down on his knees, facing CC, and took both of her hands in his. CC didn’t answer for a while.

“Where is she?” Nick said to himself. It seemed as if he’d been all around the park, atleast once and no sign of Lia.
“Ugh.” He said, he sat down on a bench and put his face in his hands.
“I’ve got to find her.” He shook his head, then got up on his way again.

Lia sat down on a bench, a few good looking guys walked by, with groups, and winked at her. She smiled to herself. One guy even came up and her where she lived. She told him and he said he lived in Miami. They exchanged numbers, and said they’d try to call eachother when they got back home.
Although, getting winks, waves, and phone numbers made her smile, she still was unhappy.
“Why do I keep thinking about him? I can’t keep being down like this, it’s just Nick.” With that, she realized how much she did like him, ‘it’s just Nick’ was actually, ‘oh my god, Nick!’ She had to atleast talk to him, apologize for acting like a bitch earlier, but then thought about the way he treated her, last summer. She was so confused! She saw a parade start going on, so she walked over to a fence, sat on it and smiled watching it.

Nick’s pace quickly picked up. He set out, passing the teacups, passing Space Mountain, and the Carousel. He looked further down the street, a parade was heading his way.
“Great! I’ll never find her now! There’ll be crowds of people everywhere.” He grumpily thought to himself, and his face lowered. He kicked a few rocks and moved over to the side of the street. He looked up, and there was Alicia, watching the parade, smiling. He didn’t want to call out her name until he got close to her, in fear that she might not talk to him and run away.
“Alicia?” He said, walking up to the side of her, she turned her hear. No words were able to come out.
“Alicia, please talk to me.” He pleaded.
“Nick, I....” Alicia started, but Nick cut her off.
“Lici,” He started. Lici was the nickname only called her. “Listen to me.” He leaned against the fence and took her hands in his. Lia turned away. “Look.” He said and puller her face back, looking at him. “I’m truly sorry for what happened between us last summer. I was a jerk, I realize that now.” Lia wanted to jump for joy. She couldn’t, she couldn’t just let it be that eas for him. Although his warm hand touching her face sent a shiver down her spine.
“Nick, last summer, you hurt me. Not just leaving me like that, but the not trusting me issue, that’s what hurt the most.” She sighed, and looked at thr ground.
“I know. I’m very sorry. The truth is, I’ve been going crazy for the past year, with out you.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well, I couldn’t sleep for a while, just thought of you. I went on a few dates, but they weren’t anything. None of them were with you.” The fact that Nick went on dates upset her, she went on some too, but she didn’t go on about hers. But hearing Nick’s voice saying what he said, so sweetly, she gave up trying to be mad at him.
“I missed you too.” She said, still looking at the ground.
“Well?” Nick said.
“Well what?”
“Will you take me back.” Nick said, sliding her arms around his neck.
