-Chap. 3-
The bell rang, finally saying we could go to lunch. I walked out the door, to my locker, with Lexo and Nick on eah side of me. Our lockers were farther down than Lexi’s, so Lexi stopped at her, while Nick and I continued walking.
“So, would you like me to maybe show you around the school during our free hours?”
“Yeah, I’d like that.” Lexi came walking down toward us, and we shut our lockers and headed to the lunch room.
I couldn’t even spot Sam when I walked in. I heard her calling my name though. She came walking out of a big crowd of people, that followed her towards me. I’m pretty glad Nick and Lexi were with me though.
“Hey Audree, over here.” She said, coming closer, Lexi pointed her out to me.
“Hey.” I said, and met her, with Nick and Lexi behind me. She introduced me to her friends.
“Shhh, everyone. This is Audree, Audree this is everyone.” She joked. “But seriously, that’s Tom and Tim, identical twins.” She pointed out two very good looking guys, they were obviously twins. The only way you could tell them apart, was by looking at their eyes. Tom’s eyes were a bright, flashy green, while Tim’s were a soft hazel. Tom walked over to me and kissed my hand.
“Bonjour Madam.” He said, in a terrible, phoney but cute french accent. I giggled.
“Okay, enough Romeo!” Sam teased. “That’s Suzi, Josh, Jenna, Andy, Melani, Sarah, Amanda (Manda), Jeff, and I see you already know Lexi and Nick.” She smiled, and I caught what she was saying. There were so many names, but they were all very nice and friendly. It wasn’t too much trouble to remember who was who.
“Can we eat now?” One of the guys growled, I think it was Jeff.
“Yeah yeah, that’s out table.” Sam pointed out a table that was in the middle of the lunch room. It was as if everyone knew not to sit there, but I’m sure all the tables are like that. Everybody had already started to make their way over to the table. I sat down, on the left of Sam, with adorable Tom on my left. Nick sat across from me.
“So, where did you move from?” Tom asked.
“Milwaukie, Wisconsin.” I said, both telling them, and asking them, to see if they knew where it was.
“Really? That’s really far. How come you moved all the way down to Ruskin, and why Ruskin of all places?” Tom proceeded in questioning me.
“Stop being so damn nosey!” Melani laughed, and threw a peice of bread at Tom.
“No, it’s alright. It was for my mom’s job.” Was all I felt like telling them. It was actually, only partly to do with my mom’s job, and partly to do with the divorce of my parents, two years ago. But who needed to know that?
“Oh, so, tell us about Milwaukie, if you don’t mind, we’d all love to hear about it.” Sam said, speaking for the group. I could tell she was one of the powerful people of the group. I told them about my friends, my school, but I didn’t dare mention Joe. I knew if I dared to bring him up, my ex-boyfriend of 1 1/2 years, the sweetest guy in the world, I’d break down in cry. It was bad enough thinking about my old friends and school and everything back home.
“Wow. I bet you misss it a lot.” Amanda said, in sympathy for me.
“Yeah.” I said solemnly, looking down at the table.
“Well, we’ll just have to fix that! We can’t replace you old friends, and we’d never try. But we can make you very happy that you did move down here!” Sam said cheerfully. I admired her cheerfulness. “Right everyone?”
“Yeah!” They all shouted.
“You guys are really sweet! I love you all already!” I said, putting on a smile. I was already glad I’d moved down here. The bell rang just then. Fourth hour on the way.
“That stupid things keeps ringing too soon!” I though to myself. We all got up from the table, and headed out the door, when Nick called my name.
“Hey Audree, wait up! I’ll walk with you to English.” And there I was, headed to my locker, then English, with Nick Carter by my side.
We walked into English, to find that the teacher had already made up a seating chart.
“Mrs. Jackson.” Nick groaned. I gave him a confused look. “She’s the biggest, well you know what. Atleast that’s what I heard from my cousin who had her a few years ago. She’s like 100!” He said enthusiasm. I laughed, he was such a sweetie!
“Oh man!” I groaned back.Even though it didn’t really matter to me. I’ve had terrible teachers before and have always gotten along fine with them, but being with such a sweet guy, that would make this class the best! The bell rang and Nick and walked over to the desks, and he, again sat behind me. (Carlson - Carter) A small looking woman, around the age of 40 walked into the room.
“She doesn’t look 100!” I said. Nick looked confused.
“Hmm.. that’s not Mrs. Jackson.”
“Hello class, I’m Mrs. Brown. Mrs. Jackson recently decided to retire with her husband and move to Arkansas. I’m your replacement teacher, Mrs. Brown, like I said before.” She seemed very nice.
“Cool, this is actually going to turn out to be a cool class.” Nick whispered behind me. I turned around slightly and whispered back.
“It would have been a cool class even if we did have a cruel teacher.” I smiled, and he got it, and smiled back.
