If I Don't Have You Chapter 7

Chapter 7

“Where’s my other earring?” Sara cried frantically running around her house. It was 6:35, and she still hadn’t put on her make-up. She dug through her jewelery box and found her other earring. She ran into the bathroom to check her curls. Then, put on her make-up. She was finishing the last touches with her hairspray, when the doorbell rang.

“Damn, he’s never late!” Sara joked to herself. She ran down the stairs, and then slowed down when she got to the bottom, trying to calm herself. She opened the door.

“Hey Brian!”

“Hey, these are for you..” Brian said, handing her a dozen red roses.

“Oh, how sweet, let me put them in a vase and then we can be on our way, come on in.” Sara had wanted to cry seeing the roses. She checked out Brian. He was wearing a blue shirt witha blue silk tie, and a nice sports jacket. He sure did look good. It was a good thing she decided to go with the skirt and a nice top. She introduced Brian to her family.

“Sara’s got a boyfriend, Sara’s got a boyfriend!” Her brother teased. Sara blushed, as well as Brian.

“That’s enough young man, get up to your room.” Sara’s mother said.

“Aww... do I have to?”

“YES! Now GO!!” Her brother slumped up the stairs into his room. Sara quickly ran into the kitchen and put the flowers in a vase.

“Okay, let’s go. Bye mom, bye dad, love you!” She said, trying to hurry out the door.

“Be home around 11:30 or 12:00, but no later please.” Her father pleaded.

“Yes sir!” Brian said and waved goodbye as he and Sara walked out the door.

“I’m sorry about my family, especially my bro., he can be obnoxious like that!”

“Hey, that’s okay! I know the feeling, I am a little brother!!” Brian said with a *big* grin on his face.

“So, where are we off to?”

“Well, I was thinking dinner and dancing, but it doesn’t really matter to me!”

“That’s great!” Sara said as they drove off; they both decided on eating Italian. After the meal, they looked around to see that only 70 yr. old couples were out on the dance floor, doing the Waltz, which didn’t looked to interesting to either of them!

“I’m sorry! Well, what would you like to do instead?” Brian asked.

“Oh, that’s okay, it doesn’t really matter to me, this night has been lots of fun anyways!”

“Well, want to go back to my house and watch a movie?”

“That’s sounds good.”

They both agreed to go back to Brian’s house and watch a movie. When they got there, AJ and Jenni were there.

“Oh hey guys, I didn’t know you’d be stopping back!” AJ said suprised.

“Yeah, well the dance floor looked like it was Senior Citizen’s Night!” Sara said

laughing! Brian agreed, smiling.

“Okay, well we were just on our way out the door, we were going to see a movie. Wanna come?” AJ said.

“Na, that’s okay,” Brian said, glancing at Sara, and she nodded. “We’re just going to stay here and watch a movie. You two go ahead and have a good time.”

AJ and Jenni nodded and headed out the door. On the way out, Jenni looked back and winked at Sara, who was already sitting on the couch, while Brian went to make popcorn and get Coke’s. She laughed.

Brian came back with his hands full of food and drinks. “Here, let me help you!” Sara said trying not to laugh, as he almost dumped the whole bowl of popcorn.

“Thank!” Brian lauched back. He loosened his tie and left to go and put his jacket up in his room. Sara couldn’t help being so happy being in Brian’s house, alone with Brian. Just being with him. Brian came back down the stairs with a blanket, “Sometimes it gets a little chilly around here,” he said, flashing his gorgeous smile.

He bent down to the VCR case and flipped through some movies. “What do you wanna watch?”

“It doesn’t matter to me!” Sara knew it really didn’t matter what movie they watched, as long as she was with Brian.

“Is, I Know What You Did Last Summer, okay?”

“Sure it, I’ve never seen it. I love horror movies though!”

“Then you gotta see this one!!”

Brian put the movie into the VCR and turned the lights down. He sat down, next to Sara, and covered both of them up with the blanket. The previews started running through, and Brian put his arm around Sara. He looked down at her to see if she cared, she just smiled. He tucked his around her more and pulled her close. She leaned her head on his shoulder.

AJ and Jenni walked in the front door from their movie, and saw the most adorable thing in the world. Brian was sitting up in the middle of the couch, with his shirt still buttoned up and a tie half way loose around his neck; with Sara laying her head on his shoulder, curled up next to him with her feet next tot the arms of the couch. The tv was flickering black and white dots. Then AJ looked at his watch.

“Hey Brian, Sara? Wake up!” AJ’s voice awoke them.

“Huh?” Was the first thing that came out of Brian.

“It’s AJ and Jenni. It’s 11:42, when does Sara have to bee home?”

“Whoa! Sara, hey, get up.” Brian tried to shake Sara as lightly as possible. Her eyes opened slightly, and she smiled, seeing Brian’s beautiful eyes gazing down upon her. “Sara, you’ve gotta get home.” Brian said in a quiet voice.

“HUH! What! OHMYGOSH, what time is it?”

“It’s 11:42.” AJ repeated himself, sounds a little annoyed.

“Oh wow, what happened? We fell asleep?” Sara said sleepily, “I suppose I should go home,” she said with a little bit of annoyance in her voice. She truly didn’t want to go home at all.

“Yeah, come on, I’ll drive you. Thanks guys, for waking us up.” Brian said, while he and Sara hurried out the door.

When they got to the car, he opened Sara’s door, like a gentleman and hurried around to the other side. He took the shortcut to her house, using the backroads, which weren’t busy, due to the time of night. Brian put the car in PARK in front of Sara’s house at 11:55. He looked over at Sara.

“I had a great night!” He flashed his million dollar smile.

“Yeah, me too. Even though we were only awake for 1/2 of it!” Sara joked.

“Yeah.” Brian said. Then he gazed into her eyes and leaned forward. Sara leaned into Brian’s lips and they kissed. There kiss was long, followed by a few short kisses. Sara pulled away, afraid that her parents were peeping through the windows, waiting.

“I’ve gotta go, but thanks for tonight!”

“Yeah, I’ll call you tomorrow!” Brian said, he took one last long gaze into her eyes and then got out and walked around to open the door for her. As soon as she stepped out, he wrapped his arms around her and kissed her again. When they stopped, Brian walked Sara to her door. She opened the door, to find no one home. She asked Brian if he would come in with her a minute. He followed. She walked into the kitchen and quietly turned on the light. She found a note on the table, that read:

DEAR SARA,

HONEY, YOUR BROTHER IS OVER AT HIS FRIENDS HOUSE, AND YOUR FATHER AND I ARE DOWNTOWN AT THE HOTEL. I FIGURED YOU’D FORGET! BUT, AS I ALSO GUESSED, YOU WERE HOME ON TIME. WE’LL BE HOME IN 2 DAYS, AND YOUR BROTHER WILL BE HOME IN 3. YOU’LL BE OKAY, YOU CAN HAVE JENNI OVER IF YOU WANT. NO WILD PARTIES! (JUST KIDDING, WE KNOW YOU!!) SEE YOU IN A FEW DAYS, WE’LL GIVE YOU A CALL.

LOVE,

MOM AND DAD

“Oh, I completely forgot, my parents were leaving. They said to have me home by 12, just ‘cuz they knew I’d forgotten about them leaving.” Sara said and started to laugh at her forgetful self.

“Thanks for coming in with me,” She started again, “I’d have been so scared if I came in alone, not knowing anyone was home!”

“That’s okay. I thought you liked to be scared!” Brian joked.

“Yeah, well only when I’m with someone to comfort me!” Sara said flirtatiously and then blushed, realizing what she said. “Would you like something to drink?”

“Sure.”
