As soon as Sara walked into her house, she ran up to her bedroom, without even greeting her parents, she picked up the phone and dialed Jenni’s number. “Jenni?”
“Yeah, is this Sara?”
“Of course, who didja think it was?”
“I dunno, I thought you were out with Nick, I didn’t expect you to call,” Jenni said, yawning. “Anyways, what’s up?”
“Well, I’m having a huge problem!”
“That’s nothing new! Just playin’ ya!” Jenni realized that she didn’t hear a laugh from the other end of the phone line, “Okay, sorry, this must be a huge problem. Talk to me!”
“Okay, well you know Nick stopped by the mall, and then after work, we walked around and stuff.”
“Yeah...how’s that a problem? I’m confused!”
“Well, I really like Nick, he’s fun, cute, and nice, and.. oh.. you know! But, everytime I’m with him, or after I’ve just been with him, I keep thinking about Brian. I don’t know, but I think I really like him, maybe even more than I say I like Nick!!”
“You don’t even know him, you’ve gotten to know Nick more than you’ve gotten to know Brian, so how would you think you like him more?”
“That’s just it! I don’t know! I kinda just have this gut feeling for Brian or something about him! I don’t know what to do!”
“Well...” Jenni started to say.
“Oh shoot, hold on, my other line is beeping!”
“Okay..”
“Hello?”
“Hi, is Sara there?”
“This is, who’s this?”
“Oh, hey Sara! How are ya? This is Brian.”
“Oh,” Sara suddenly got butterflies in her stomach, “Hey, nothing much, I was just talking to Jenni, hold on.” She clicked the phone over before Brian could say anything.
“Jen?”
“Yeah, I’m still here, but only cuz.. well I don’t even know why I’m still here!! Just playin’.”
“That’s Brian.”
“Oh.. um. Okay....”
“What should I say to him?”
“I dunno, just go along with everything, I guess. See what he wants. Maybe you should ask him out!?!?!”
“Okay, well I’ll see what’s up with him, and I’ll call you back!”
“K, bye.... good luck! Teehee!”
“Thanks!”
“Brian, are ya still there?” Sara said, clicking the phone back over.
“Yeah.”
“Okay, sorry, I had to let Jenni go, but... uh... she had to tell me something real quick.”
“Oh, that’s okay. So, how have ya been?”
“Pretty good. How about you?”
“Good, how was your date with Nick?”
“Oh....” She paused for a minute, “It was good, I guess.”
“Oh, you guess?”
“Yeah, well, he just came to see me at work and then we walked around the mall.”
“Oh, that’s cool.” Brian said. There was a long pause after that.
“Hey, um... could I ask you something?” Brian broke the silence.
“Sure can.”
“Okay, well I know we didn’t get to know eachother that well the other night, so I was wondering if maybe you would wanna do something together tomorrow night, just the two of us??”
“Sure, I’d love to!”
“Okay, sounds good. What would you like to do?”
“I dunno, suprise me!” Sara said, giggling.
“Okay! Well, how about I pick you up at 7?
“Sounds good. See ya then!”
“Yep, see ya then!”
They said their good-bye’s, and immediately after Brian hung up, Sara called Jenni. She told her all that was going on tomorrow.
“So, whadya think?” Sara asked.
“Sounds cool. This could help you a lot with your problem!”
“Duh!”
“Okay, well I gotta go, AJ and I were going to rent a movie and he should be on his way soon!”
“K, well have fun! Bye!”
“Bye!”
Sara walked to her closet and searched for clothes. She decided on a white sweater from Gap, and a gray tank underneath, along with a long black skirt. She then changed her mind, and thought she should wait until tomorrow to decided on what to wear and how to do her hair, so she could talk to Brian, and ask about the plans. She sat down on her bed and thought to herself about Brian and Nick, trying to compare the two. This didn’t work too well, because she had never really been on an actual date with either of them alone. This would change tomorrow, after her date with Brian, her feeling would too.
“Hello?”
Brian thought to himself about what he would do for his ‘suprise’ date with Sara. He thought she was really nice and wanted to do something that would totally suprise her. He called AJ, the romanticism master.
“Hello?”
“Hey man, what’s up? It’s B-rok®.”
“Oh hey, nothing much, what about you?”
“Nothing. I kinda need some help.”
“We all know that, we’ve tried.”
“Haha, you’re so funny AJ.”
“I know, I try. I think I’m up for an Oscar. But anyways, what’s the deal?”
“Well, I just got off the phone with Sara, remember her? Jenni’s friend?”
“Duh! Go on...”
“I asked her out for tomorrow night and she said yeah. She told me to suprise her when I asked her what she wanted to do. What should I do? I think she’s really cool, I want this to be *huge*!”
“Hey, wasn’t Nick seeing her?”
“Well, they did do something together yesterday, but it wasn’t much. She said yes, so they can’t be that close.”
“Okay, well, here’s what to do.....”
