Brian got out of his car to be a gentleman and open the doors. He walked around the car, and opened the passesnger side door. Nick ran ahead of AJ, Sara, and Jenni to the door.
“Why thank you, you’re such a sweet heart!” Nick said in a high pitched girly voice. Everyone laughed. Brian jokingly punched him in the stomach. Nick took the front seat anyway, and let the sweet-talkin AJ take the back seat with the two girls. Brian turned tne radio up as they drove down Sara’s street. “Oh, I love this song!” Jenni yelled, but was soon drown out by everyone’s voices as they sang the words to, “No, No, No” by Destiny’s Child. AJ made everyone start to crack up when he started to sing at the top of his lungs in an off-key tone, “YOU SAY NO NO NO NO NO, YOU SAY YEAH YEAH YEAH YE|AH YEAH!”
They got to the movie theater and waited in line for tickets to see City Of Angels, starring Nicolas Cage and Meg Ryan. While they were in line, Brian, Nick, and AJ all commented on how good the girls looked. Sara and Jenni thanked them and said the same about them. It was true, the guys looked great! Brian and Nick were both in blue, baggy jeans, while AJ was wearing khaki colored cargo pants. Brian had a deep blue button up shirt, that was buttoned up with only the top button, which covered a white tank top. Nick was wearing a red polo; and AJ had a yellow and blue checkered flannel covering a yellow tee.
They got their tickets and chose seats near the back of the theater. After the movie, whch they had loved, they all all chose to stop by McDonald’s and have a after-movie snack. AJ of course got his #6, Jenni got a Coke and fries, Sara just got twist ice cream cone, Nick got a #2, and Brian got a cheeseburger.
Brian dropped Jenni off first, and AJ got out to tell her how he had a great time tonight, and that he wanted to know if she wanted to hang out tomorrow. They both agreed to meet at Wonder Park to play b-ball and just hang with eachother. They had a quick kiss goodbye on the cheek, and AJ headed back to the car.
“OOOHHHHH!!!!” Brian, Nick and Sara shouted when AJ opened the door. AJ said nothing, but got in the car with a big smile on his face. They all laughed and drove to Sara’s house.
When they got to Sara’s house, Nick offered to walk her ot the door. “Sara, I know we didn’t really get a chance to hang out together much, so.... I was wondering if you would wanna get together and maybe hang out tomorrow or something?” Nick asked Sara when they got to her door.
“Sure, I’d love to, but I have to work tomorrow. How about Sunday?” She replied.
“Sounds good, I’ll give you a call. Oh, by the way, where do you work??”
“I work at Daytons, it’s in the Cantington Mall. Why do you ask?”
“Oh, I was just wondering if I knew where that is, guess not. I’ll call you!” Nick replied. There was an odd silence for a moment. Then Nick gave Sara a quick goodbye kiss on the cheek, Sara smiled, and Nick headed back to the car.
Brian had a bit of jealousy when he saw that Nick was up at Sara’s door step for a long time, and he got even more jealous when he saw that little peck between Nick and Sara. He thought to himself, “Oh man, I was gonna walk her up there.” He forgot about it when Nick opened the door.
“Oooh..” AJ mimicked what everyone had done to him when Nick opened the door.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah.” Nick said, reaching into the back seat and punching AJ.
“Hey, hey, no abuse! I’ve got a date tomorrow!” AJ yeller to Nick.
“Oh really?! So do I!” Nick said. Brian’s eyes lit up, “What?”
“I asked Sara if she wanted to do something tomorrow, but she has to work, so we might do something on Sunday.” Nick replied.
“Oh.” That was all the Brian was able to reply with.
As soon as Sara opened the door, she ran upstairs to her bedroom. “Hi mom, hi dad, I’m home, I’m fine, goodnight.” She yelled charging up the stairs to her room. She picked up the phone and dialed Jenni’s number.
“Jenni?”
“Yeah! Sara?”
“Yeah! So.... what happened with you and AJ? Girl, I want all the details!” Sara practically yelled through the receiver.
“Well, nothing really. Okay, we’re gettin’ together at Wonder Park tomorrow!”
“Oooohh! Really?! Cool!”
“So, what happened after I left?”
“Oh, they just dropped me off, and Nick walked me to the door! He asked me if I wanted to get together tomorrow, but I have to work, so I told him Sunday! Then he gave a kiss!”
“AHH!! Cool! That’s great! Hey, what about Brian?”
“What do you mean?”
“Well, I thought you majorly liked him, so I stayed away from him! DUH! You’re gonna go out with his friend, then?”
“Well, yeah, I do. I just don’t think he likes me back! I mean he was pretty quiet the whole night! I mean you were there, you saw! Nick and I were talking quite a bit, and we have a lot in common!”
“Yeah, well I dunno. Who cares right now! We’ve got some FINE dates for the rest of this weekend” Jenni yelled!
They talked about what Jenni should wear, and that they should all do something together on Sunday. They said their good byes and hung up.
Sara lay in her bed that night thinking all about Nick. His eyes, his lips, everything! Then a thought of Brian popped into her head......
