If I Don't Have You Chapter 29

Chapter 29

Sara awoke to a cool breeze blowing through the windo. Blinking, she carefully lifted her head slightly. Looking to the side of her, she saw Brina’s bare chest, where her head had just been laying. “Ohmyfod! What have I done?” Her head screamed. Then, she began to feel terribly stupid, realizing that all of her clothes were still on, along with Brian’s boxers.
“Mmm....” She thought to herself, again. “He’s sure got a nice package!”
Her mouth dropped at this thought, although she knew it was true. She laid her head back on Brian’s chest. A cold shiver shook Brian’s body, and made Sara decided to reach down and pull the covers up over the two of them.
Sara knew she wouldn’t be able to fall back asleep, so she sat up. Leaing against the headboard of Brian’s bed, she gently lifted Brian’s head in her lap, and began softly stroking his head. Glancing down at his eyes to see if he was awake, she saw his eyes closed softly and that he was sleeping like a new-born baby. Bending down, she softly kissed his forehead and stroked his head again.
“Oh Brian,” She said quietly, in a whisper. “I relly do think I’m falling in love with you. I’m almost certain, which is scary. I don’t know if I want to fall in love again, not since Josh.” She let out a deep sigh, and tears filled her eyes. What Sara didn’t know, was that Brian was awake and had heard every word she had just said. He began to feel terrible, and yet curious at the same time.
Sara sat against Brian’s headboard for about an hour, when she realized Brain was awake. She gasped.
“Um, how long have you been up?”
“Only about 5 minutes.” Brian lied.
“Why didn’t you say anything, or move?”
“I was comfy, and I was especialy enjoying my position very much.” Brian smiled, and Sara blushed.
“Look, it’s a terrible day out.” Sara said, pointing to the window. The sky was dark, the wind was blowing heavily, and they could hear the rain start to fall on the roof.
“Rainy days aren’t all together that bad.” Brian commented.
“I guess.” Sara said, Brian pulled her back down beside him. He then reached over, and and pinned her down, positioning her like the night before on the floor. He went in for a kiss.
“Then again, I can’t disagree with that.” Sara said and pulled his lips back. Just ask their lips touched, the phone rang. Brian didn’t even notice it.
“Brian, aren’t you going to get that?” Sara asked, pushing him away.
“Nah ah, AJ’ll get it.” Brian kissed her again, while the phone rang 2 more times.
“Brian, I don’t think AJ’s awake. Answer it, it could be important.” Sara pleaded. Brian sat up, making a face.
“Okay, okay.” He said, frowning. He picked the phone up and answered it. “Hello?” Brian asked through the reciever.
“Hey B-Rok®!” The voice said.
“Oh hey Nick, what’s up?” Brian asked. Sara got a confused and concerned look on her face.
“Nothing much, what about you?”
“Just layin’ here.”
“Did I wake you up?”
“Na, I was up.”
“Okay, well I was gonna ask if you wanted to go and play ball or something, but’s its rainin’.”
“Yeah.”
“So, do you wanna get together and hang out?”
“Yeah, sure.”
“Okay, well, why don’t we meet at the community center, we can play ball there. You game?”
“You bet! You ready to get whooped?” Brian started getting excited.
“No, the question is, ‘Are you ready to get whooped?” Nick said. “So, how about we meet there at like 1?”
“What time is it now”
“It’s, ah, 10:45.”
“Okay, 1’s cool.”
“K, catch ya lata.”
“Yep, bye.” Brian said and hung up the phone.
“What did Nick say?” Sara asked concerned.
“Oh, he just wanted to go and play ball or something.”
“Oh.”
“We’re gonna meet up at the community center if you don’t mind.” Brian didn’t want to just leave her for the day.
“No, go right ahead, I was thinking of going to the mall anyways.”
“The mall?” Brian asked.
“Yeah, I need a new swim suit and some summer stuff.”
“A new swimsuit?” Brian frowned. “Hold on, let me call Nick and cancel.” Brian reached for the phone.
“Brian! No! You and Nick need sometime to chill with eachother! Besides, I was gonna ask Jenni, we haven’t hung out together for a while. If I can tear her and AJ apart that is.”
“Oh, okay.” Brian was still frowning.
“What time are you going anyways?”
“He said to meet at 1 o’clock.”
“Okay, well we’ve got 3 hours.” Sara grinned.
“Hmm... what do ya got in mind?”
“Oh nothing, just this.” Sara kissed him.
“Mmmm..” Brian murmured. His stomach growled. “Could we hold that thought?”
“Yeah, I’m kinda hungry too.” Sara said.
“Well, would you care to join me for some breakfast, my lady?”
“I would love to, kind sir.”
They quietly walked passed AJ’s room, and could hear nothing but silence.
“Should we check it out?” Brian whispered.
“Brian, no!”
“Oh, come on.” Brian opened the door quietly, just a crack. AJ and Jenni were on AJ’s bed, in a weird position. AJ was sitting up against the wall, his arm around Jenni’s shoulders.
“Look’s like they fell asleep watching tv or something.” Sara giggled.
“Maybe.” Brian shut the door. “Okay, let’s go eat.” They tiptoed quietly down the stairs.
