“Hello?”
“Hey Sara! What’s up?” Sara was confused. She knew the voice sounded familiar, but couldn’t figure out who it was.“Oh, hey, nothing, what about you?”
“Nada here!” She recognized, it was Jake. “Where have you been lately? We’ve missed you?” He asked her. She looked down at Brian, who had fallen back asleep. He looked adorable.
“Oh, well, here and there I guess!”
“What’s that mean? I mean, even Jen hasn’t seen much of you, although I know she’s busy with that new guy of hers, what’s his name?”
“AJ.” Sara answered quickly. “Yeah, we’ve both been sort-of busy like that.”
“Oh, you’ve got a guy now?”“Well, I’ve been out on a few dates.”
“Oh, kool, well, hey do you wanna get together, say tomorrow? I haven’t seen ya in a long time!”
“Okay, that sounds kool. Who ya bringing?” Sara replied, thinking he meant a double date.“Well, you, I just asked.”
“Oh! Oops! Sorry! That sounds okay I guess.” Sara said, feeling a little uneasy about the while thing. She wanted to spend time with Nick, like she’d promised him, or even with Brian.
“Okay, how about we meet at Godfather’s, at 8:00?”
“Okay, sounds good!”
“See ya then!”
“Yeah, bye!” Sara hung up the phone. She looked, again, down at Brian. He looked somewhat like a doll. “Too good to be true.” Sara thought to herself, she farefully climbed out of bed, and quietly tiptoed out her door. She walked into the kitchen, and the phone rang again.“Hello?” She sounded aggitated.
“Hi honey!”
“Oh, hi mom, how’s the hotel?” “Actually, that’s what I’m calling about, your father and I were down in the Casino, strange yes I know, but we won a free cruise! I’m very excited! I already called your brother, and he’s gonna stay over at grandma and grandpa’s. I think you’ll be fine, won’t you?”
“Yeah! Wow! That’s great ma!” “I know, we’ll be home tomorrow, and then leave in two days!”
“Oh, alright!” Sara thought she heard Brian move upstairs, and got tense.
“Mom, I was just gonna go and shoot some hoops with Jen, and I don’t wanna be late, so I gotta go!”
“Okay, alright, I’ll see you tomorrow! Love ya! Bye”
“Bye.” Sara said, and hung up the phone, she listened to for Brian, she heard some moving around on the floor, and walked upstairs.
“Hey sweet thang!” Brian said. He was sitting straight up, on the floor, looking half awake.
“Hey, how’d ya sleep? Does your back kill? You shoulda slept on my bed, at least! I’m sorry, I shoulda thought about that!”
“Oh, I’m fine! Don’t worry, it doesn’t hurt! Seein’ you this morning makes any pains I have go away!” He flashed his grin.
“Oh, you and your sweet talking! If I wasn’t such a, um.. well you know, I wouldn’t take it, so I guess you’re lucky I do!” She walked over and gave him her hand to help him up. He pulled her down on his lap instead. She usually felt completely comfortable in with Brian, but now she felt insecure. Perhaps it was going out to see Jake. She thought that might have been it, because Brian didn’t know about Jake, or any of her other pals! She didn’t want him to get upset of jealous, but she decided to tell him anyways, when he asked what she wanted to do tonight.“So, what do ya wanna do tonight?”
“Umm... well, when you were asleep, my friend,” She tried to anounce ‘friend’ with a little more enthusiasm, “Jake called and asked if I wanted to go to Godfather’s with him! I haven’t seen him since I met you, and so I said yes. I hope you’re not too upset with me!
“No, that’s kool, I understand.”
“You do? You don’t mind at all?” She was a little curious as to why he wasn’t jealous at all, he didn’t seem to be one bit.
“No, I am glad that you want to go out with your friends.”
“Oh, okay.”
“But, until then, you’re mine!”
“Oh am I?”
“Yes, you are.” He said and started to tickle her. She squirmed, and found herself laying on the floor, with Brian looking down on her, tickling her stomach. Brian came down, on top of her, “This is a comfy position, don’t ya think?” He grinned.
“Ahh, I guess.” She said.
“You guess?” She pulled him closer saying, “This is better!”
“Oh, I guess I have to agree with that!”
Brian and Sara finally got up, off of the floor, after about 30 minutes of disagreeing about comfortable positions on the floor! Sara walked over to her closet, Brian quickly followed. She searched for some an outfit. She pulled out a navy blue NIKE shirt, and a pair of Levi’s jean shorts. Brian stood right behind her.“Hey, aren’t you gonna let me change?”
“Sure, who’s stopping ya?”
“Oh you!” She said, and tried to push him out of her room. Brian laughed, feeling her hands push at his chest, and he wasn’t going anywhere. Then he walked backwards, saying, “Why don’t you just ask?” She pushed him harder, through the door, and shut it. Then, walked over to her bed, where she had set the clothes, and changed. After she was done changing, she walked out of her room, but didn’t see Brian anywhere.
“Hey, Bri, I’m done.” She wandered her hall. Still, no Brian. “He-ll-oo?” She opened the door to the bathroom, but didn’t see him. Then she felt some hands glide around her waste.“I was looking for you.” She said, turning around.
“I know!”
“Okay, well come on, change your clothes, we’re gonna go play b-ball.”
“Okay, well who’s ‘we’?”
“You and me silly!”
“How do you know if I want to play b-ball?”
“Okay, fine! Do you want to go play b-ball with me, or sit in my house all alone?”
“Well, I like the sitting in your house thought, but not alone! Alright, let’s go play some ball.”
“Aren’t you gonna change?” Brian looked down at what he was wearing, suprisingly, it was what he was usually wearing when he played b-ball.
“Nah, I usually wear this kind of stuff when I play, if you don’t mind.”
“No. Okay then, let’s go.” Sara grabbed her keys, and locked the doors when they left, and headed to the park to play b-ball.
