If I Don't Have You Chapter 1

Chapter 1.

The yells and screams coming from students running down the halls, the teachers shutting their doors for the last time for three whole months. Sara smiled to herself as she and her friend, Jenni, walked through the school hallway, through the doors, and into the parking lot. Sara opened her car door, and put the key into the ignition of her ‘98 Blue Dodge Viper.

Sara and Jenni both laughed as some guys screeched out of the parking lot singing, ‘SCHOOL’S OUT FOR SUMMER!!”

“ I can’t believe school’s out so fast! Our Junior year, gone, already! Three months of summer sun and no Mrs. Wakefield!” Jenni said. Mrs. Wakefield had been the 11th grade Chemistry teacher, that loved tormenting students; who was now just an image from the past.

“ I know! I can’t wait to sleep in ‘til noon, go to work around 3 and be home in time to PAR-TY!” Sara replied and did like her fellow classmates and sped through the parking lot into the street! The girls drove to Sara’s house and plopped their bags on the floor when they entered.

“Hey Mom, Dad, Joey? Anybody home?” Sara Related Words.

“Upstairs dear.” Sara’s mother called from her room.

“Hey Mrs. Martin, how are ya?” Jenni yelled upstairs.

“Hello Jenni, I’m doing just fine. Thank you for asking, how are you?” Mrs. Martin answered coming down the stairs.

“I’m great, thanks for asking!”

“Mom, we’re gonna go out for some pizza to celebrate school being out! I’m not sure when I’ll be home, I might be staying at Jen’s house tonight... if that’s okay?” Sara said.

“All right hon, it’s fine with me, you better call later to tell me what’s going on though!” Her mother replied.

“Okay, bye!” Sara and Jenni both said as the walked through the door back to Jenni’s Viper.

They opened the doors to Pizza Hut, to see their whole group of friends sitting at their usual table. Sam and Nikki arguing over which kind of pizza to order, and Jake, Mike and Jesse having their usual burping contest. “How original you guys.” Jenni yelled to Jake, Mike and Jesse.

“Let’s go with Pineapple!” Sara yelled, at the same time, to Sam and Nikki, to break up their argument.

The group went silent. Jenni and Sara started to crack up. Then, they walked over to their usual table.

“I was just kidding!” Sara said!

“Yeah, I know. This idiot here is trying to order Canadian Bacon pizza, while he knows I hate it. He knows that I want the Sausage.” Nikki said sarcastically while punching Sam in the stomach.

“Hey, ouch!! You’re gonna get...” Sam was cut off by the waiter.

“Can I help you? Would you like to use our special of the night; buy one large pizza with up to three toppings, get 3 liter bottles of Coke for free?” The waiter interrupted them.

The group looked around and chatted quietly about what they were going to order.

“Sure, we’ll have one large Pepperoni and Sausage pizza, with the three liter bottles of Coke for free.... Why don’t you add three more bottles to that!” Jake replied for the group.

The waiter said that the pizza would be done in about 15 minutes and he’d bring the Cokes right out. The group sat there and talked about things that had happened this past year. From Jake and Mike setting the Chem. lab on fire, to how many break-ups Sam and Nikki went through. They laughed about their trips to the prom with eachother, as friends, and how Jesse started break dancing in the middle of the floor. They waiter interrupted their conversations, “Here you are, six Cokes.” They nodded and took the Cokes.

The pizza came and they feasted on it. Still talking about the past.

“Guys, I can’t believe how fast this year went by!” Nikki said.

“Yeah, I know, can’t wait to see how much damage we do next year!” Sam said, smiling at Nikki.

The group finished their pizza and decided to get together tomorrow to play b-ball. They were going to meet at Wonder Park, they place where they had all met when they were still in diapers.

“See you tomorrow!” Sara shouted. She and Jenni grabbed their purses and walked through the doors to Sara’s car. They got to Jenni’s greeted Jenni’s family, and walked up to Jenni’s room. Sara called her parents and told her that she was staying the night at Jenni’s and told her that she was going to play b-ball with her friends at Wonder Park, and threw in that she didn’t know what time she would be home the next day. Sara had no idea why, but she had a great feeling about tomorrow.
