Our club meets six times each year to play cards, socialize, and have fun. Everyone brings a snack to share. This helps to make it easy on the host. We have six couples that meet on one Saturday night each month starting in September and ending in April. We take December off because that time of year is too busy. Everyone pays one dollar to the host to get to play. Everyone also needs to bring a pocket full of quarters. During play if you get euchred you and your partner must deposit a quarter in the pot. The player with the highest point total at the end of the night takes home all of the quarters. The host provides a ten-dollar bill that is the prize for a successful loaner. The player with the last successful loaner gets to take the ten dollars home. No one really cares if they win -- they just don't want to lose. The loser is awarded a vast array of lawn ornaments to proudly display for thirty days.
We use tally card to determine the parings for each table. Everyone at the table deals twice and the total points you won during the game is recorded on your and your partners tally card. We play a total of 11 rounds so you partner with everyone there one time.
