Lending a Hand to Other Muslims

'And whatever you spend for spendings (e.g., in Sadaqah - charity for Allah's Cause) or whatever vow you make, be sure Allah knows it all. And for the Zalimun (wrong-doers) there are no helpers. If you disclose your Sadaqat (alms-giving) it is well; but if you conceal them and give them to the poor, that is better for you. (Allah) will expiate you some of your sins. And Allah is Well-Acquainted with what you do.' [Qur'an 2:270-271]

We have an obligation to help our Muslim Brothers and Sisters in their time of need. In this day and age there are many people who ask without having true need. May Allah deal with them swiftly and justly. Ameen.

This is no reason not to give when a fellow Muslim, male or female, asks for help. None of us wants to give money foolishly, yet we (as Muslims) have been warned of being suspicious of other Muslims. Surely, Allah, The All-Knowing, knows what's in our hearts and He Alone knows that we give, to help others, out of the true desire to please Him.

Too many times I've seen genuine requests for help go unanswered because of suspicion about the requestors practice of Islam. Are we the ones to judge others? I think not. Allah is the Best of Judges. Let Him judge us  for our intentions and actions, not for our suspicion of others.

I've seen numerous requests passed around email groups yet only a small handfull donate. The next time you are asked (on-line) to help out a fellow Muslim with a financial problem, stop what you are doing and send them at least $1.  Can you imagine if everyone who read a request did this? By the Will of Allah, the response would sufficient to cover the requestors needs.

I am not a rich woman, but I know that everything comes from Allah, I do not want to be known as one who doesn't share what He has given me, no matter how little or great it seems to me.

This world is a test for us, will you pass your test today?

Ya Allah, I beseech you to protect us from suspicion, help those fighting in your cause to win their battles and to soften our hearts toward others. Ameen.
