ABOUT

I am a 1997 graduate of the Columbus College of Art and Design, with a Bachelor's degree in Illustration. I work professionally as a cartoon animator, illustrator, graphic designer and model builder. Originally from Goshen, Indiana, I have lived in Ohio since 1993 when I started college. In addition to the artistic work I have been involved in, I am looking to further my career in animation at a large studio like Disney or DreamWorks. Hopefully the industry will pick up in the near future so that goal can be realized. My hobbies include amusement parks, drums (since I was 3!), the zoo (I spend my life there drawing), movies, Colts & Fighting Irish football, my cars (a Dk Blue '90 Toyota Celica and '82 Trans Am which will become a KITT replica someday), Star Wars props and restoring trains of any size. I have also designed a few model amusement rides and roller coasters for hobbyists and collectors.

Favorite movies: RUDY, National Lampoon's Vacation, Christmas Vacation, Adventureland, Zombieland, Planes Trains & Automobiles, Cruel Intentions, Empire Strikes Back, V for Vendetta, Italian Job, Speak (2004), Spiderman Trilogy, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Jurassic Park, Invincible, Friday Night Lights, Hoosiers, Back to the Future, Austin Powers, The Money Pit, That Thing You Do, Princess Bride, Shaun of the Dead, The Ghost & Mr. Chicken, Supersize Me, Rat Race, Spaceballs, Disney/Pixar animation (CARS, The Incredibles, Toy Story, Aladdin, Lion King, Jungle Book).

Favorite music:

RUSH (They are the best 3-man band in the land! Also check out POWER WINDOWS, a fantastic Rush tribute and news site)

Steve Perry and Steve Smith are sorely missed, but 3 outta 5 originals isn't bad!

Also - The Killers, Crowded House, Coldplay, Tears for Fears, U2, The Police, Foo Fighters, Van Halen, Metallica, Bruce Springsteen, Alicia Keys, Depeche Mode, The Verve, Smashing Pumpkins, Evanescence, Linkin Park, Sheryl Crow, Lisa Loeb, Matthew Good, Boston, Prince, Dave Matthews, Genesis, "early" Mariah, Weird Al.

Although I'm not into comics, I've always been a Superman/Spiderman fan. Smallville is truly one of the better shows in recent years given its amazing cast, fantastic visual effects (feature film worthy), GREAT soundtrack and interesting story lines. Fans of the Superman movies will thrill to this look at Clark's teenage years. No longer the boy from Krypton, but not yet the Man of Steel, a young Clark Kent struggles with the average high schooler's life, while trying to keep his powers a secret. It's exciting to see him (and a few others) deal with the effects of the meteor rocks. Not to mention watching Lex and the rest of the cast live out their destinies.

The Critic is among the funniest animated series ever to hit TV (next to Family Guy and The Simpsons). It is about Jay Sherman (no relation!), a New York fim critic that manages to force his way through each day reviewing films he'd rather eat! Brilliant writing and non-stop parodies of Hollywood made this a hit. It ran for 2 seasons with 23 episodes from 1994-1996.

A show that managed to get un-canceled, this witty, no holes barred series features a father that tries too hard to make things right, a wife that manages to keep her sanity, a daughter rejected by everyone and everything, a son who lacks common sense, a baby who wants to rule the world (and kill his mother in the process), and a dog that outsmarts them all. Anyone that grew up in the 70's and 80's will identify with the outrageous parodies......buy the DVD's and laugh yourself into a coma....ok not really.

TV's longest running animated series

A well-written, accurate and comical look at those who nearly give their lives to bring you the best sports coverage......

Titled "Inconvenience stores", this is a favorite Far Side cartoon of mine.

Favorite comedians:

Weird Al, Frank Caliendo, Heywood Banks

Favorite games:

GTA Vice City, Rollercoaster & Railroad Tycoons, Need for Speed, Microsoft's Train/Flight simulators (An extremely accurate rail simulator, with both old and new locos. Just don't take the wrong switch!). Also -

Released in 2001 as one of the final games for N64, this is one of the greatest multiplayer adventures out there. Full of furry little characters that specialize in mutilation, weapons of all kinds, movie parodies right and left, and endless toilet humor, this is a must! (unless you're under 17....lol) The graphics, sound and backstory are well developed. Oh, and I can't forget to mention the difficulty levels which range from "Inbred" to Einstien". The bazooka, magnum and sword are the most efficient weapons, but watch out for Nazi Tediz and their chainsaws..... Click HERE for some screenshots
