Winter's Beauty

By Starla Northstar

A blanket of snow covers the valley,
as if to tuck it in till the Springtime.
The pond is solid for skating,
the snow is right for sledding,
and the nights are crisp.
The flakes fall big and small
to land on our coats.
The stars twinkle in the sky
and look like tiny eyes.
The moon shines down to light up the snow
and to give it a comforting glow.
Good night wintery scene before my eyes.
I shall see thee in the morn
and I give you the name
of Winter's Beauty.
