Tribute
This poem was written by Grandma Mary's Sunday School class ("The Trustworthy Class") after her death.
A tribute from The Trustworthy Class
to our teacher Mary Burke
We'll never forget how she labored
And wept many nights alone
For the ones in The Trustworthy S.S. Class
She loved as if they were her own
There were many Sundays she taught us
When she was hardly able to stand
But we know she will be rewarded
As she enters that heavenly land
No never did she lose patience
But labored faithfully on
And time and again she helped us
In the days that are past and gone
But now her Savior has called her
And her work here on earth is done
And she's gone to that city fair
Where a life's crown has been won
Gone from a world of sorrow
Gone from a life of pain
Gone to a land of promise
Gone there to live again
Gone but never forgotten
To those bright mansions so fair
But may each one of her S.S. class
Meet sister Mary up there
