The Sharon Heights Community Association (SHCA) is a group of residents interested in the well-being of the people residing in and visiting our local area of northern Columbus, Ohio. We live in the community known as Sharon Heights, which is generally bounded by Morse Road (east of High Street) and the southern edge of the Graceland Shopping Center (west of High Street) on the south, the Olentangy river on the west, the Columbus/ Worthington border on the north, and the Conrail railroad tracks on the east. Our group meets at 7:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month to discuss various subjects and issues of general interest and concern in our community. Any person who lives in the Sharon Heights area as described above is considered a member of the SHCA, and is invited to attend meetings. Individuals that operate businesses in the Sharon Heights area are also welcome to attend and participate. Remaining 2002 Meeting Dates: 17 September, 15 October, 19 November, 17 December. Upcoming 2003 Meeting Dates: 21 Jan 2003, 18 Feb 2003, 18 Mar 2003, 15 April, 20 May, 17 June. 7:30 p.m., North Baptist Church, 76 Charleston Avenue. On occasion, meetings are held at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 35 E. Stanton Avenue. See monthly fliers for location, or contact Paul Carringer, 846-3734, for more information. The Sharon Heights area is (along with various Clintonville, Beechwold, Old Beechwold, and Delawanda neighborhoods) represented to the City of Columbus by the Clintonville Area Commission (CAC). The CAC acts in an advisory capacity to the Columbus City Council and various departments of the City of Columbus, providing neighborhood-level feedback on zoning variance requests, code enforcement issues, traffic and safety issues, infrastructure improvement issues, area economic development issues, etc. Three districts of the CAC fall within the Sharon Heights area. CAC District 9 falls entirely within the Sharon Heights area, and Districts 8 and 6 fall partially within our boundaries. CAC meetings are at 7 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month, and are usually held in the community meeting room of the Whetstone branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library, 3909 High Street.
