Welcome to the Piranha’s Model Boat Club web page. The Piranha's were re-formed a few years ago by several current members from the central Ohio area. The original Piranha's ran on the same site years ago. We have a few members who remember those good old days. Well at least the old days. Our home pond is on Williams road along I-270 on the southeast side of Columbus. The pond is now named “Heron Pond”. It is part of the Three Creeks Metro Park which is a joint venture between Metro Parks and the City of Columbus. We have permission to run on the first and third Sunday of each month from June thru October. Our club is affiliated with IMPBA ( International Model Power Boating Association ). This helps with insurance requirements with the Parks and Recreation folks. To run on our pond you must first join IMPBA. Most of our members run nitro powered model boats. We also have some members who are into Gas and Electric boats to a lesser degree. Currently we have a large number of riggers, a few scale boats, and some stray tunnels, cats, and deep vee’s.
