 Appearance: Black shirt, pants and boots, blue cloak. Black hair, white eyes, he's very pale and rather sickly looking. Background: Atticus' parents abandoned him to die in the snow fields outside Astoria when he was seven years old. He stumbled around for a few hours, then finally found a cave where he did actually succumb to the bitter cold. The cave, however, was not entirely empty, Lucifer was inside, scattered amongst the shadows. Although a demon, he's not evil, he simply embodies darkness. He took pity on Atticus and flowed into his lifeless body to sleep until resurrected, but the process (LONG process) was interrupted by Sebastian when the angel found Atticus a week later and revived him. Since Lucifer hadn't had the time to resurrect his body, he is bound only to Atticus' mind and soul, it is an unbreakable bond, no other person-living or dead-can command Lucifer, he simply won't have it and he'll kill anyone who tries to 'steal' him. Lucifer is not simply a guardian, he's an embodiment, thus he cannot be 'replaced' or removed. The Oblong box was a gift to Atticus from Lucifer, but in order to possess and command it, Atticus had to face the horrors of the box, thus the reason it's magic does not work on him. No one else can use it, if someone other than Atticus opens the Oblong Box, they're suddenly confronted by all of their deepest fears- everything they've EVER been afraid of-at once. No one's ever withstood it, except Atticus, and that was partially because of Lucifer's help, but even if someone WERE to stand up to the box, it will only accept Atticus as it's master. The only time it's not used to bring to life someone's fears and phobias is when Atticus uses it in "Hollow Grave". Atticus can communicate with the dead because he WAS dead, he's exceptionally sensitive to the residual energy left behind by not only the recently, but the long deceased. Strengths: Atticus is a distance fighter, long range is his preference. Weaknesses: Holy magic and Lightning. He also has a passion for reading and will often hinder a battle if he's anywhere near a sign or shop window. Other: Atticus is very quiet and he loves to read. He speaks generally only when spoken to, and then mostly in response to a direct question. Limit Skills I. Silent Majority - Atticus will silently call forth any and all spirits from his past or present. The size of the 'ghost mob' varies upon how many he can contact, thus the damage varies, but this attack is devastating even at it's lowest because it's an all out barrage of invisible pummeling for five solid minutes. II. Hollow Grave - Atticus will extend the Oblong Box, a black smokey mist flowing from it. His opponent is suddenly swept away, falling through a bottomless pit of absolute pain and torment for a solid 60 seconds, before being deposited violently back to where they were at. III. Telekinetic Rage/Ego Whip - Telekinetic Rage attacks his opponent's mind, Atticus always calls it the "Ego Whip" because it can generally create jelly even from the hardest demon. This is NOT a physical attack, the body sustains no damage, but his enemy's mind is generally wiped completely clean. IV. Deep Into That Darkness - This limit has never, EVER actually been used. It's even hard to explain, basically Atticus will turn himself undead and enter the mind and soul of his enemy. Once there, he cannot attack, but he simply begins to move things around - a memory here, a reflex there, this emotion would be cool to use right now-until they're a tangled mess of confusion and uselessness... imagine suddenly remembering your fourth birthday party in the middle of a heated battle, then you're suddenly compelled to just leap in front of that oncoming arrow for the hell of it while confessing your deep inner desire for cheesecake. You REALLY have to piss him off in order to make him use this because he walks away with every ounce of knowledge the enemy possessed-more than just their skills, I mean EVERYTHING, all their memories, all of their fears, hatred- Atticus HATES this limit break. V. Blink - Atticus will use his ability to 'blink' from one place to another to enter the enemy's body, ripping them apart when he reappears. It's very gruesome and hardly ever used. Guardian Stats Lucifer's attack is called "Shadow on the Wall". He'll appear from Atticus shadow and point to one of his enemies, casting instant death, then transfers the victim's knowledge to Atticus. He also can protect Atticus using "Lucifer's Halo", a wall of black shadows that can't be cut through by anything by holy magic. Sebastian's attack is called "Messenger", and it fills the enemy's thoughts, at first, with surreal images of peace and harmony. If they persist in attacking, the images shift to death and decay, warning them of their imminent demise |
