Membership in PACT/Youngstown
is open to all, and the membership list is kept strictly confidential.
As currently constituted, the organization is a multi-cultural group of
gay men and lesbians; others are welcome to join, including transgendered,
bisexual, and heterosexual persons. We are people of many different
racial, cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds, and we represent
a great variety of interests, political persuasions, and religious, spiritual,
and philosophical outlooks. There are currently 32 chapters of our
organization, located in major cities throughout the United States as well
as in Canada, Brazil, and the U.K. What binds us together is a common
determination to honor and celebrate our diversity in an effort to combat
fear and hatred of difference. Membership in our chapter represents
commitment to this purpose.
The annual membership
fee of $20 includes membership in both PACT/Youngstown and the National
Association of Black and White Men Together (see below). Each member
receives the monthly newsletter of PACT/Youngstown and the opportunity
to participate in all local PACT and national BWMT activities.
