"Barely." Chris mumbled.
"Dude you did worse than me." Lance said. They all had to laugh at that.
"Do I really have to clean the bus by myself?" Chris whined.
"It was your idea." Joey pointed out.
"But I didn't know I was going to lose!"
"Sorry Buddy."
"Hey yall, let's hit a club before go to bed. The night's still young." Joey suggested.
"The night may be young but my feet are telling me to go to bed." Megan said. "I think I'll pass."
"C'mon Princess! We haven't been clubbin' in so long. Please?" Joey gave her a puppy dog face.
"Next time Joe." She said.
"Anyone else?" Joey asked.
"I'm gonna stay with Megan." Justin said. "Yall have fun."
"OK. Let's go guys." Justin and Megan watched the rented SUV (driven by JC) drive off before they went into the hotel. When they reached their floor, someone was waiting by their door.
She stood in a long coat and sunglasses. Her curly brown hair fell around her face hiding what wasn't already hidden by the glasses. Justin walked closer.
"Can I help you?" He asked the stranger.
"Yeah, I'm looking for my boyfriend." She said. "You might know him: short, funny, high pitched voice...?"
"Bridget?" Justin asked. "I thought you weren't coming till Sunday."
She slid off her glasses to reveal her deep green eyes. "Well, my boss got sick and called to say I wasn't needed for the rest of the week so I decided to take my vacation early." Bridget explained. "Who's your friend?"
"Oh, I'm Megan."
"Bridget."
"Well, do you want me to call Chris?" Justin asked, pulling out his cell phone. "They just left to go to a club and they might not be back for a while."
"No!" Bridget exclaimed. "I want to surprise him."
"Alright well, his room is right down the hall. Third door on the left." Justin pointed.
"Thanks J. It was nice meeting you Megan." Bridget said as she walked to Chris's room.
"You too." Megan called back.
"Well, that was a nice surprise." Justin said as he unlocked the door to their room. "Now the whole gang is here.
"She seems nice." Megan said.
"She's a sweetheart. Chris has known her for ages."
"What ever happened to Danielle?" She asked.
"Oh... ummm... her and Chris broke up about a year ago." Justin said. "She said that she couldn't handle his career anymore."
"Joey told me he was devastated." She said.
"Yeah, it took him awhile to grasp the fact that they weren't together anymore." Justin explained. "But they stayed friends and she's still the president of his clothing company, so I guess it's all good."
"That's good."
"But enough about Chris. Let's talk about us." Justin said sitting on the bed. He patted the spot next to him.
"What do you mean?" Megan asked nervously.
"What are we going to do when you go back to New York and I go back to Orlando when the tour's over?" He asked.
"I don't know...I didn't really think about that." She said.
"The last thing I want is for this to be some summer fling that will be over at the end of the summer." Justin said. "'Cause, you know, we're not teenagers anymore or anything."
"I agree." She said. "But Justin, I have to finish school. I still have another year of studying left."
"How much do you have to study to be a dancer?" Justin asked.
"What are you trying to say?" She asked. "That I should quit school and go with you back to Orlando?"
"No - No. That's not what I meant at all. I just... God Megan, I don't know what I mean." He said laying on the bed. "All I know is that the last time we left each other, we barely talked for six years. I lost you once already, I don't want that to happen again."
"I'm not going anywhere." She assured him. "You're stuck with me."
"That's not so bad I guess." He joked.
Later that night, the shrill ringing of Megan's cell phone woke her. She sleepily reached into her bag to answer it.
"Hello." She said softly so she wouldn't wake Justin.
"Meg?" a deep voice asked.
"Jacob?" She asked not believing it was him. "Why are you calling me."
"I want you back Meg." He said. "I've been thinking about it and I realized that I made a mistake."
"Damn right you made a mistake." She yelled softly. Justin tightened his hold around her waist and pulled her closer. She looked to make sure he was still sleeping.
"Please Megan." Jacob begged. "I'm sorry. I did some stupid things. I couldn't help it."
"What do you mean you couldn't help it?" She asked angrily. "You just didn't have enough self control to keep your hands off of her?"
"You could say that..." He said.
"Let me ask you something, Jacob: What was Collin doing while all of this was going on?" He hesitated. "Answer the question."
"Talking to Cindy on his cell phone." He said quietly.
"So while you were sleeping with another girl, Collin was talking to his GIRLFRIEND." She said.
"Megan, I apologized. I realized that I need you and I want you back. Say you'll take me back Megan, please."
"I'm sorry Jacob, but there's someone else that needs me more than you." She said looking at Justin.
"What?" Jacob asked obviously not understanding.
"I have someone that needs me more than you do." She repeated.
"Well then. I guess there's no point in continuing this then is there?"
"I guess not, I'm sorry Jacob, but you had your chance." She said.
"Yeah." He said softly.
"Good-bye." She hung up the phone and dropped it to the floor. The noise shook Justin awake.
"Who was that?" He asked still half asleep.
"Wrong number." She lied.
"Oh." He sighed.
"Sorry to wake you." She said moving closer to him. She rested her head on his shoulder.
"No problem babe." He said kissing her forehead. "Just go back to sleep, we still have a couple more hours left."
"'Night." She said.
"Goodnight baby." He said falling back asleep leaving Megan to think about what Jacob would do when he found out about Justin. She didn't want to find out.
