‘Tis Love ‘Tis Fear

Like a beaten, armored, crusader
My heart retreats; trying to evade her.
Compared to the darkness that comes after the day;
Eventually she finds everyone, you can never run away.
My heart runs till backed against this wall.
Then turns with fear and fights off all.
This is different from how it used to be;
At times It was brave and strong but those times you were with me.
Times when angels sung on your shoulders and doves flew;
Years ago in time yet still never forgotten, me being with you.
Changes sometimes come even to the strong and it’s sad;
So unimaginable that small changes could destroy all we had.
Hard lessons learned, ‘tis love ‘tis fear;
All seems lost now without (love) you here.
