And Tears Fall

A little boy and girl have wrecks on

their bikes skinning their knees,
and tears fall.....

They become the best of friends;

kids at school make fun of them,
and tears fall.....

They go to prom as a couple so in

love then he drinks afterwards,
and tears fall.....

The couple, completely in love with

each other, say their “I Do’s;”
and tears fall.....

The young woman has her first child;

love and happiness consume her,
and tears fall.....

He thinks of that cold day, the

car crashing, taking his family
and tears fall.....

He thinks of playing catch and

reading bed time stories
and tears fall.....

Thoughts, about the girl he loved,

enters his mind day to day;
and tears fall.....

Those intimate feelings of when they

were close are felt only by him now;
and tears fall.....

One kiss, as she left, felt so sweet, now burns

his fingers when he touches his lips;
and tears fall.....

Frustration and anger lead to punching

walls and bleeding hands
and tears fall.....

One drink leads to an addiction, he

looses everything in his grief
and tears fall.....

He drives around drunk at night

praying someone will hit him
and tears fall.....

Finally that day comes and it’s a

lady and her little boy, they die;
and tears fall.....

He’s become what he has hated;

he’s become that man,
and tears fall.....

He’s homeless now and lives

down by the tracks
and tears fall.....

Everyday he searches for a

penny to buy his drink
and tears fall.....

Years pass and he finds a

friend just like him
and tears fall.....

One night they get close enough

to tell of their past
and tears fall.....

The stories are finished and they

both look at the other with hate
and tears fall.....

It seems that each was the man driving

that killed the others family
and tears fall.....

Hate turns to sympathy

then to more guilt;
and tears fall.....

Standing up and holding hands they

walk to those old tracks
and tears fall.....

Looking at each other they say

their sorry and hold hands tighter
and tears fall.....

Standing there they feel that old

ground shaking once more
and tears fall.....

They close their eyes as

the train runs them over,
and tears stop.
