Queen Serenity looked down at her daughter's wide-eyed, smiling face. It was her bedtime, and the young princess had requested that her mother tell her a story about when she was little. Queen Serenity thought for a moment, then began.
"When I was your age, I was nothing like the sweet, obedient child you are. I was mischievious, always looking for new ways to disobey my mother and escape my responsibilities. One day, after sneaking into the garden when I was supposed to be studying, my mother punished me by sending me to my room. I was very angry with her and decided to run away. I packed some food and clothes in an old travelling sack and sent a message to my friend Alona, the Princess of Venus, to meet me in a meadow a few miles away from my home.
"When I got there, I saw that Alona was wearing almost the same thing I was, a hooded cloak, long-sleeve shirt, and a skirt designed so we could easily run without tripping. It well suited for the long days of traveling we were expecting. We double-checked our supplies, filled our canteens at a nearby stream, and set off.
"Ever since I was a child, I had had amazing and, at the time, unexplainable powers. There were legends of the Moon Queens of old possesing such powers, but no one had actually had them for many generations. One of these powers was the ability to created a protective bubble that would protect against almost anything, including the vacuum of space. I used this ability now, and my friend and I flew off towards Jupiter and the Outer Planets to see if any of our other friends might join us.
"However, while we were floating in the protective bubble, a sudden burst of energy sent us far out of the solar system. We hit the surface of a distant planet, and though the bubble had absorbs some of the shock, we both fell unconscious."When I awoke, I was looking into the face of a smiling woman, who was dressed in an odd red, gold, and white outfit. After looking closer, I realized what it was. She was a Sailor Senshi! Out of the same legends as my mysterious powers, the Sailor Senshi were just myths back then. According to the legends, there had once been one for every planet in our Solar System. However, they had disappeared along with the mystical powers of the Moon Queens. I looked at the woman in awe. Behind her were two others, also wearing the signature outfit of the Senshi. One of them had a silver and blue dress, and shimmery blue hair. The other looked like an adult version of my friend Alona, complete with long blond hair pulled back by a bow. Her outfit was dark blue and gray. The first woman I had noticed introduced herself. "I'm Sailor FireStorm, Lady of Fire and Guardian of the Sailor Elements. These," she said pointing to the other two, "are Sailor Cyclone and Sailor Silver Spring, my two companions"
"Sailor Silver Spring took over the introductions. "Welcome, Princess Serenity," she said. I looked around confused. How did she know my name? Sailor silver Spring laughed. "Your friend Alona told us all about you two" she explained. Then she grew grave and quiet. "It's such a shame that in a few years you will be no different from any other Moon Queen, corrupt and heartless. That's why they lost their powers, you know, and the protection of the Senshi." She turned suddenly to the other two Sailors. "Sailor FireStorm, Sailor Cyclone, is there anyway we could keep Serenity and Alona with us, just for a few years?"
"The other two Senshi looked uncomfortable. "Well, I guess we could," Sailor FireStorm said, "but only if they agree," she finished. I looked at Alona. Agree? To live with the legendary Sailor Senshi? Who wouldn't? Sailor Cyclone looked at our awed faces. She smiled. "So I guess it's the five of us now." she said."
Queen Serenity looked down at her sleeping daughter. There was more to the story, much more, and there would be many more storytimes to tell it in.
