Mom died
Dad freaked out
Off to Grandma's I went.
Things changed
Life got dark.

What you saw/what I lived
Very different.
Love/hate
Acceptance/rejection
Talent/hack
Family/solitude
Warmth/coldness
Freedom/jail

I lived the charmed life
Me.
Everything I wanted
Nothing I needed.
The charmed life.
That's what I lived.

Struggling to keep my head above water
I wonder if it is all worth it.
Slowly sinking, I decide
NO.
I lived the charmed life.
Now it's over.
Gritty and harsh is the reality

Turning my back on so called family
I feel it now
Love
Acceptance
Talent
Family
Warmth
Freedom
I live the charmed life.
