THE GATE

Suddenly the pain is gone that I've suffered for so long,
Now I stand at an open door;
As I take one step inside I begin to realize,
What my soul's been searching for.
Mortal words cannot describe,
What appears before my eyes;
And I'm just inside the gate.
Just inside the gate where loved ones wait,
God's light shinning from the throne,
Fills heaven with a song.
I can't believe the change in me,
I've never felt so free;

Now at last my mind is clear,
Worldly thoughts have disappeared;
Now every thought is just of Him.
No more worries, doubt or fears,
These new eyes can't shed a tear;
Peace and joy now dwells within.
I've never felt so young and strong,
This place just feels like home;
Oh, and I'm just inside the gate.
