TELEPATHY

As we have seen in a previous chapter, imbedded in the brain, almost directly above the top of the spinal column, attached to the floor of the third ventricle of the brain, is a small cone-shaped gland of reddish-gray color. It contains corpuscles resembling nerve cells and little concretions of a gritty, calcareous matter. This is the pineal gland. Science has known of its existence for a long time, but no attempt has been made to explain the presence of the sand-like matter in the tissue itself. Scientists have, however, noted that the organ is larger in children than in adults, and more developed in women than in men, generally. Both of these facts are significant.

The primary function of this little organ is to act as a receiver of projected thought-wave emanations. In short, it serves as a "telepathic communicator." It is a sensory organ. But, it is not necessary for this organ to have an outer opening, like the eye or ear, since thought energy vibrations can easily penetrate the semi-liquid matter of the physical body, just as x-rays pass through wood or stone.

Thought vibrations striking this sensitive organ causes the brain to reproduce the emotional essence of the thought, which either passes into the field of the consciousness or remains in the region of the subconscious, according to the circumstances. Telepathy, then, is the receiving by one person, either consciously or unconsciously, vibrations sent forth from the mind of another person, also consciously or unconsciously. But, the sending person does not need to be physically present, or even still alive, for his or her thought to be received.

The expended energies of all past thought form a kind of living "memory" which may be accessed as easily as reading this book. A better simile for today, I guess, would be to liken it to the process of watching a video tape of a specific event, only in 3-D and with full sensory playback. Many of these historical psychic impressions may be gathered from the thought energies that attach themselves to certain object, such as a comb or piece of clothing, or from the energies that reside within a certain location.

But, no matter how interesting or tempting such experiences may be, do not get too wrapped-up in your newly developed psychic talents. They may be enthralling and even educational, but they are not actually essential to your main objective -- the discovery and development of your True Self.
