| Who created Existence? And, who created the Creator
of Existence? Then, who created the Creator of the Creator of Existence?
And... Well, we could go on forever.
Existence exists! Simple, huh? Space, time, Life, and consciousness have forever co-existed in infinite diversity and abundance. They swirl around and through each other, constantly interacting to form cycles of creation and destruction. While creation takes place in one part of the universe, another section is destroyed. The universe, as we know it, is rushing outward at nearly the speed of light to form the longest energy wave possible, one lasting trillions upon trillions of years, until all of its force is spent. Then, gravity, the weakest of all forces, is all that remains and takes over. The universe will reverse directions and rush back in upon itself, forming another energy wave lasting trillions upon trillions of years. The pull of gravity increases proportionally to the sum of the mass, multiplied by the inverse square of the distances between the masses. Simply stated, this means that the gravitational collapse will accelerate geometrically as the mass is drawn together, until all of its force is fully restored. The cycle ends as the universe collapses into a single black hole and its energy wave is reduced to only one-trillionth of a second. At the final moment of implosion, all activity ceases as the volume of the universe nears zero, or infinite density. All matter will have been reduced to pure gravitational energy. But, in an instant, the mass to energy cycle completes and the energy to mass cycles begins. The universe will turn inside out in another Big Bang explosion that gives birth to a new universe. If the Universe is continually imploding and exploding over trillions of years, it may just be one of a system of others, which implode and explode together as a unit over an even greater period of time. And, this unit of universes could just be one of a larger system of units, which also implode and explode together over a period of time beyond imagination. So, time and space, illusions that they are, are inextricably linked. We see the passage of time in operation all around us and, mistakenly, take it for granted that time is a manifestation of reality. But, this is an grievous error of the senses. There is actually no such thing as time. Our awareness and consciousness of the change in things creates this illusion. When we are happy and interested in something or someone, time flies by like a rocket and we are not even aware of it. But, when we are depressed or bored, it crawls along like a snail. When we are happy or occupied with an interest, we do not pay attention to the changes going on around us, so time is virtually suspended for us and five hours may seem like only five minutes. But, when we are depressed or sad or bored, we tend to notice every little change in everything around us, until time (as measured by the number of these changes) passes so slowly that is seems intolerable. A tiny insect, such as a mite, can and does live an entire lifetime of birth, growth, reproduction, old age, and death in a matter of a few hours. To the mite, however, its life seems just as long and full as yours does to you. Why? Because so many changes have taken place. The greater your consciousness of change, the greater your sensation of time. The less aware you become of change, such as during hours of dreamless sleep or period of total unconsciousness, the less your sensation of time. It is, therefore, an illusion created by the changing illusions of the physical universe. Just as with the concept of infinite time, we find it difficult to grasp the idea of infinite space. This is because everything that we perceive through our senses has dimensions. But, it is only the relative position of things which gives space its reality. We see one object here and another one there. Between them is nothingness. We measure off the distance between the two objects with a ruler, or some other tool, and say that we have calculated the space between them. Space, however, is nothingness and we cannot measure a nothing. So, what is it we have we really done? We have merely determined how many lengths of another physical object, our ruler, may be laid between the two objects. We cannot conceive of infinite space, however, because we lack a second object to serve as our ending point of measurement. We could start with the spot upon which we stand, and a mental measuring stick is always at hand, but where is the end? You could imagine a million billion measuring sticks, laid end-to-end across the Universe. But, what have you measured? Space? No! You have measured sticks, objects, things. Without material objects, space is invisible, immeasurable, and unthinkable. In fact, there is no such thing as space, period. It is merely an abstract capacity for extending objects in any direction. Space is, therefore, only a word used to identify the nature of nothingness. But, just as space is the capacity for expansion toward the infinitely large, so is it the capacity for division into infinite smallness. Imagine a large object, then divide it in half, and divide it in half again, and again, and again. You could continue this process forever, and never reach an end. Neither time nor space exist in the Absolute. An event which happens every billion years and an event which takes place every ten seconds will both repeat an infinite number of times during the course of Infinity. An object the size of Jupiter and a grain of sand will both require an infinite number of duplications to fill the Universe. The infinitely large and the infinitely small are both merely illusions. Yet, behind all apparent shapes, forms, elements,
principles, and substances, there is the One. All Things and Life are but
manifestations of the Absolute, depending upon It for growth, expression
and the illusion of reality. But, the One does not depend upon Its manifestations
for Its own Existence.
